An interesting discussion.Made me wonder at what point can you legally get up and ask/demand a full refund on the basis that your enjoyment of the show has been totally compromised? Personally I love a good show stop. At a production recently a rather excessive use of smoke cause a building-wide fire alarm, resulting in evacuation (someone hadn't isolated the sensors). It was interesting to see how the staff responded and (generally) how well they coped. The show was 2mins from the end of the first act. Once the all clear was given, they gave the audience an extended interval and picked up from the top of Act 2. To my knowledge, no-one complained despite missing a smidge of the show. Fun standing outside with the cast in costume and seeing which muso's had brought their instruments with them and which hadn't!

Probably automation, the whole set relies on it really. A similar thing happened in London a few weeks ago I believe with the desks not coming up/going down

I’m not sure if we really missed anything. When they restarted Miracle, it was from the bit where the Doctor takes off his coat and turns into one of the parents, and then we went straight into Miss Honey’s classroom after the second stop.

A friend was in tonight and said they were still experiencing serious technical based problems...., and I have read on Twitter that some of the other performances this week have been the same. It doesn’t really bode well. I wonder what’s going on. I really hope they can get whatever is wrong fixed for Bristol and beyond.

Sounds like a shambles.If for example,this is the first ever theatre visit for a youngster who might get ‘hooked’ on theatre and this is their sub-standard experience of the medium then it doesn’t bode well.Not to mention extortionate theatre prices!

I received a half-hearted automated apology email from ATG on behalf of the RSC saying it was due to unpredictable computer glitches. If they are getting to the point where they have to stop almost every performance for the safety of the cast (which I agree is paramount in this situation) maybe they should reconsider even running the show at all.
I really feel for the cast. They are what made the production great in my opinion, and are doing their very best to keep it all together considering how poor circumstances have been recently.
