I thought it was particularly poignant and sweet (and really rather clever) when in the time Shrek pulls out his ear wax to make a candle.

Hope its not Holden on the tour! Someone who can sing and act would be great. Alice Fearn was by far my favourite Fiona, but Faye Brookes on tour was also pretty good (never seen Bronte Barbe I'm afraid).

You can see Bronte Barbe in The Wild Party at The Other Place until April 1. She is excellent in it, very funny.

I'd love a West End revival! Any chance this could happen?

I'd love a West End revival! Any chance this could happen? It may be too soon for a full-blown West End revival, but a limited run ala The Bodyguard could work!

Isn't it a case that kids like to see other kids on stage?
I have no kids, so what do I know?

No plans for a London return at present - there are some close-to-London venues on the tour.
Who knows in the future though.
I'm actually really pleased it's making a return though, I love the show. I'm just hoping they don't scale down too much. I'm predicting a smaller band, possible smaller ensemble, maybe some thinning down of the set (though obviously I hope not). Time will tell.

With all due respect to the show, which I too love, how much more scaled down can it get? I never saw the first UK Tour but at the Drury Lane, the set there wasn't exactly elaborate if I remember correctly? It was a lot of flats and two tracks for things to be moved onto stage? If the last UK Tour was scaled down too, surely this show, a fairy tale where over the top is key, really can't be much more scaled down in terms of design and set?

I think it's great that this is touring again! It was so much fun when I saw it in the West End and love listening to the cast recording every now and then.
I wonder if Nigel Harman will be involved again, as he directed the last tour?

The last tour was virtually identical to the London production barring a few minor changes. I would imagine this time it'll be more band/ensemble size that could be trimmed - like you say it's hardly the biggest production in the first place!

Brian D'arcy James singing 'Who I'd Be' is perfection. His voice makes me melt. And then the three of them together is a perfect ending to act 1. Ive never heard it done better.
I've played that song on repeat many times.

Surely they wouldn't revive an extremely expensive flop musical that nobody's really clamouring to see revived.

Surely they wouldn't revive an extremely expensive flop musical that nobody's really clamouring to see revived. A lot of the shows in the last tour sold out and if you look on social media, there is a fairly high demand for its return.

Surely they wouldn't revive an extremely expensive flop musical that nobody's really clamouring to see revived. Even if it didn't recoup, it still had a respectable run of 20 months in the West End and a successful tour of 19 months afterward so its not like people didn't/don't want to see it.

It definitely didn't flop. The last tour did very healthily indeed. Sure, there were a few problem venues, but on the whole it did well. Hence it's relatively quick return.
