Are G4 back together? I thought they'd fallen out...bit rude to take your own music to a musical but hey ho. Never heard of G3. Are they a tribute band?

That may be true (though more like 10 given the amount of tourists to fight through on a Saturday), but by time she gets out of there after performing it would be probably about 1.45, so not long before 2pm by the time she gets into the theatre and then has to get in costume, do her make up and vocal warm ups, get on stage etc. I don't see how anyone can think it would be viable at all with a WEL timeslot that close to curtain! I agree. It's a shame the ensemble and supporting cast have to do it too!

I would expect given the timeslot they'll simply send Marisha (who won't be onstage for the matinee) to sing And I Am Telling You (and possibly also I Am Changing) without any staging. But we'll see!

Hello all! I'm an American who was going to London for vacation but had to cancel and i'm trying to sell my Dreamgirls tickets. I have 2 fantastic seats for Thursday, July 6th. This is the first day Amber Riley is back from vacation so i'm sure she'll be in AMAZING voice!
Stalls D, seats 14, 16.
Please email me at SAhearn100@gmail.com if you're interested and we can start the process of payment and letting the box office know there is a change in the Will Call name.

There are so many songs they can do with or without staging.
Move (with staging) Dreamgirls (with staging) And I Am Telling You I Am Changing Listen
They can also do Step Into the Bad Side or Fake Your Way to the Top with modified staging but that will be unnecessarily challenging.
This is a show with many options, unlike a Les Miz or Phantom which are incredible musicals, but with less exciting material for such a big public daytime concert. They've been doing it for years and years and it's normally the same thing over again.

This may sound dumb, but I'm almost hoping for West End Live they don't do Listen or And I Am Telling You just because they always perform them. Like, I fet they are the most famous songs from the show, but why not do a different selection like the title song or even I Am Changing just to switch it up.

They should just do Step Into The Bad Side with full choreography but they probably want to feature the ladies

^ The ladies ARE in SITBS once the setting turns into a "concert".

He's definitely pretty to look at. But I kind of only like his scenes in Act 1. I need home out of the way in Act 2 because his scenes just drag on.

Marisha has a solo slot on Sunday based on the list on London Theatre. I wonder if she'll do DG songs for her slot or other stuff?

I have a question about the London staging of "AIATY".
It seems very weird that Effie sings the whole part "stay with me, stay with me, please stay and hold me mr. man, try Mister,, try Mister I know, I now, I know you can", when Curtis already left the building. These are lines about (physical) affection, one would say in someone's face. It doesn't make sense to sing these to yourself. All the other lines in the song have some kind of "broader" meaning, but these do not.
Basically, Curtis walks away on the exact wrong point so the verse does not make sense anymore. The moment where he walks away in the OBC is right after that verse, on the accent in the music, which is so much more powerful.
Can anyone explain this odd choice?

I agree- I noticed this too. But I only think I noticed it because in the original Michael Bennett blocking, he leaves right before "tear down the mountains, yea scream and shout", which is more in line with what you're saying. Of course it's a great moment even with this new staging of this production, and even though she's not wearing anything that resembles the original pink/purple costume, which is iconic as far as I'm concerned.
