^I agree with poster J, there's nothing wrong with the front upper circle except a lack of legroom if you are over 5ft 6 or so. If you are and really can't do better, get an aisle seat and sit sideways if you can, and don't sit in the very front row. The very back stalls is also OK and often the same price. Check ATG's site for dynamic price changes from now until as near as you can to show time. Well in the end I went for centre of row C in the upper and for £20 I cant complain, well I will complain if Amber isn't on again!! lol

I saw this on Thursday evening and although there is no doubt Amber, Liisi and Asmeret are incredible singers I found the story rather dull. I loved the sets and costumes and the vast majority of the songs were very good and enjoyable but the lack of a solid storyline left me bored in parts. Overall, a good show but I'm in no rush to see it again.

For anyone going to see the performance at West End Live it looks it's Marisha as opposed to Amber, I wondered if it might be. As much as I love Amber I feel as if they think performing at this sort of thing is below her or something? But then maybe it's just so she doesn't miss any more actual performances after the pneumonia disaster.

They'd be mental to take the risk.

Im pretty convinced at this point they are pushing Marisha to perform at every event she can to boost ticket sales of the Monday shows but also gain her a bit of a fanbase if/when she takes over in November.

Someone said a few pages back that Amber was getting a bit "like that". Entourage, etc. Maybe going through an Effie style "too big for her boots" phase... And then in the dressing room one night before the show her and Marisha and the bloke playing Curtis have this immense "it's all over" argument with the orchestra actually REHEARSING THAT ACTUAL SONG and you can hear it faintly in the background 😱. Curtis tells her she's been giving all this bullsh*t not to mention clapping a bit of weight on 😮. Amber comes right back on him saying she's had pneumonia for Christ sake AND she's been on SlimFast, actually so SHUT IT!. Then Marisha tells Amber she's self absorbed and, in her opinion, quite the unprofessional which Amber goes mental at and accuses them of ganging up on her. Next minute Karen Mav barges in saying she's had enough, she's just breaking into the biz and she's not 'avin it, ok? Amber gives her a right look and says don't you DARE treat me like a second rate Diva who can't sustain, they don't call me Ruth, and I GOT THIS, OK? Sonia Friedman enters, in a puff of smoke, dressed in a full length fur coat and hat and says "Right Amber, ENOUGH! I'm sending you off to Broadway to finish this job... and no arguments lady" Then as the orchestra continues playing, Amber goes into this song.... what might it be? 🤔 Something like that anyway!

By the way, Sonia F has a northern accent like Stephanie Beacham as Connie.

One friend told me today she wanted to see this. We bought flight tickets right away lol. Coming back to London next month for just a weekend.

But then maybe it's just so she doesn't miss any more actual performances after the pneumonia disaster. I don't think it's anything to do with it being "below" her, rather it's everything to do with the fact that Dreamgirls' slot is barely an hour before Amber will be onstage for the matinee... None of the big shows will have their full lead cast there except maybe Wicked, as their slot is early enough to give the cast a bit of a rest before the matinee (though I'm expecting Wicked to send their standby anyway).

Most shows had their principle casts there last year. Wicked certainly did.

Understudies and standbys not unusual for these events. On Broadway they mainly send their standbys for summer int the park type gigs.

Most shows had their principle casts there last year. Wicked certainly did. That's because 'Wicked' has so many understudies and alternates going on all the time that they probably don't know who the principle cast is anymore. Must have been luck last year.

Most shows had their principle casts there last year. Wicked certainly did. As I said, it's a lot to do with the timeslot a show has and who is going onstage for their matinees. Amber is scheduled to do the matinee so it would make no sense for her to do WEL an hour before the show when she needs to get ready to perform at the Savoy.

That may be true (though more like 10 given the amount of tourists to fight through on a Saturday), but by time she gets out of there after performing it would be probably about 1.45, so not long before 2pm by the time she gets into the theatre and then has to get in costume, do her make up and vocal warm ups, get on stage etc.
I don't see how anyone can think it would be viable at all with a WEL timeslot that close to curtain!

Perhaps the fault lies with the organisers. Surely the whole point of West End Live is to generate ticket sales. There's a reason why there are no premier league football matches televised at 3pm on a Saturday.
