To throw "Shade" is to deliberately put somebody down. So the intent behind the request would be "shady", if it was to ridicule Ruth based on the recent Dreamgirls situation. If it wasn't, then no.

Does it make you feel any better to know that Ruth busked regularly before joining Dreamgirls and also during her time there? She often had videos on her FB and would ask where to go. Angel is a favourite spot of hers if you're ever passing by  I don't think she's doing it for money (solely, of course some would be a bonus!) if thats your concern. |

Oh no, not at all, I meant it as a "see how good she is at it" kind of thing, to finally hear her sing it, not to put her down! I would actually be really intrigued to hear her take on it!  |

However great she seems on that clip, bottom line is that she wasn't up to the job otherwise she would have been put on. There were plenty of opportunities over Christmas with all that illness. Maybe she can't act, who knows?i think many of us had doubts at the choice of the two alternates and given the number of times Karen has been on it looks like we may have been justified.

Seeing Ruth again gave me an idea about the whole alternate mess. It's probably already been discussed a few months ago when she was first let go but I just need to write my theory down somewhere really! Was it that Ruth wasn't quite ready by Christmas and neither was whoever understudies Effie in the chorus (is it Candance Furbert?) so they flew over Marisha to help out Karen. Then once Marisha got all these amazing reviews they said to Ruth "we have 3 alternates now, we only need 2, bye bye love" -as in Ruth was ready but not quite as good as Marisha and Karen so they decided to let her go. I don't know if they'd actually be allowed to do this with contracts and stuff but that's just a theory I had.

Is it Candace? I hope she gets on at some point actually as unlikely as that may be. The whole time i watched her as Lorrell i thought how she would probably make a fantastic Effie as well.

She stands there with her head up, no matter what people may think or say, still doing what she loves, even though it's a big contrast with playing the lead role in Dreamgirls, in the end we are all people and we all know highs and lows in life. Especially in showbusiness, you have yourself and the rest is an illusion. Good for her that she uses her passion and talent to bring joy to the people in the street. |

Does anyone know who went on as Deena on Tuesday? My friend saw it and she said she was very annoying and had an awful voice, and when shown a picture, she wasn't certain it was Liisi. I'm trying to find out of it was Lily Frazer |
