Has anyone actually won the lottery for this aside from the first couple of weeks after it opened? I keep trying but no luck - wonder if it's partly because I'm only attempting to get 1 ticket? I did win a single ticket for it but sadly couldn't go (I did send danieljohnson14 in my place though so the ticket wasn't wasted!). I think it's just sheer volume of people entering it for a relatively small number of seats. They are now doing £20 day seats Monday-Friday too, which may be worth considering if that's a feasible option for you! Sadly I work full time so dayseats are only an option on the weekend! Might try on one of the bank holidays though.

Box Office from 10am, in addition to the TodayTix lotto. Hmm, good to know. Thank you (honestly). Are we talking good seats? Seats not specified, I think it's whatever they've got, probably single seats first.

When I saw the show months ago I couldn't believe that Lily Fraser could've been understudy Deena! Omg, she looked so bored on stage as Michelle. She put in no effort into the role and I couldn't understand a word she was saying. The ensemble put in more effor that her. I don't think it's fair, she shouldn't be allowed to play that part if she won't put effort in. Carly M Dyer should be original Michelle, at least she would put the effort in unlike Lily. Can't see her as Deena at all!!

Can't see her as Deena at all!! How do you know she would? She could be worse? And how do you know that when Lily plays Deena she doesn't put in a good performance? For example, a post earlier in this thread commented on how much effort she was putting into her singing. The part of Michelle is small. There isn't much for her to do, she is given no focus or any emotional pull. Its probably less the actress not putting in effort and simply the role not being very good.

Fair enough with the Deena remarks. She could be good as Deena. However, the ensemble don't have any lines to say but still put in so much effort. It seems only fair that one of them should be Michelle, who gets to say some lines

I honestly thought that Lily was very poor as Michelle. Michelle is a rather small part, but it is a part after all. I also think Michelle has THE line of the show.."Now watch your mouth, watch your mouth Ms. Effy White, cause I don't take that talk from no second rate diva, who can't sustain." That line is musical theatre gold. And Lily makes nothing of it. So I sort of understand skepticism of her Deena. Having said that, I'm happy to give her a chance and see her understudy the role.

I have to say that I wasn't impressed with Lily when she played Deena. It wasn't that she was bad, it was just the others around her were so much stronger. Some of this needs to be down to the characterisation - obviously Deena isn't meant to be the powerhouse that Effie is, but when she needed to really hold her own, it just wasn't there.

Have the covers for the three girls been swapped around? It's so hard to keep track.
I just saw a tweet saying Jocasta is making her debut as Deena tonight and that she is the first cover

Jocasta used to be 1st cover Lorell and 3rd cover Deena but now Candace is 1st cover Lorell. They both seem to go on as Lorell though at different times even if the other is in the ensemble that performance. Lily is supposed to be 1st cover Deena and Jocasta used to be 3rd cover after Kimmy Edwards. Has it changed? Would like to see Jocasta as 1st cover.

If I went again I would like to see someone other than Lily Frazer as Deena. As I said, she really gave it her all during Listen but I couldn't understand what she was singing in some places at other parts in the show.
I would be very interested to see Jocasta's take on the role as she's got a stunning voice. As I say though I'd just like to see another take on the role.
I'd also be interested in seeing someone other than Nicholas Bailey in his role.

Amber Riley really was something special, have waited 35 years for this. A simple stunning , thrilling production.
I liked the new version of Listen.

Those curious, there is a video of the final part of Listen with Amber (I think it's Amber!) and Lily on Instagram. I must say, Lily sounds better than I thought she would, but I just couldn't imagine her being a right fit for the role throughout. http://instagram.com/p/BQ1RabOhaaf

She's vocally not a patch on Liisi - she can't stand up to Amber in this song, whereas Liisi provides an appropriate counterpoint.

Great news...Cast Album (double) now available to pre-order on Amazon. Release date April 14th. Not aware as to whether this is a live or studio recording. Can't wait to add it to my other three.
