Thanks! Its nice to be here! My first Broadway show was Dreamgirls with the original cast, um... 35 years ago! LOL. Dying to get over to London to see it! Can someone please tell me how the Opening of Act 2 is staged and what song(s) they use? Love love me baby, the song that they sing after AAITY

It's a new song which is essentially a full version of Love Love Me Baby sung by Deena at the hight of her fame, and backed up by the Dreams.

That's sort of what they did for the Act 2 opener on the last US national tour directed by Robert Longbottom. Sadly, I didn't think it worked. The Michael Bennett versions (and there were 5!) during the original run and subsequent tours that he directed!

You know what I would fine really nice? If, once Amber leaves, they made Marisha full time Effie. I just love how she has made a name for herself in the uk from this show.
I don't think the show will need any celebrities once Amber leaves but Deena could easily be played by a name if they desperately need one.

Speaking of her, did anyone catch her Effie show last night?

She is back performing with the exception of the shows she is scheduled to be off Saw the matinee performance on Saturday- it was so so so good! Amber is in top form. The duet of Listen is such a GREAT 11 o'clock number and the entire show was so well done. I especially loved Steppin' to the Bad Side- the choreography, lighting and music were AMAZING! Already booked to watch it again on 15 Feb!

Starting to think I might never win lottery tickets. Entering almost everyday with no luck!

I've been hoping to win lottery tickets for ages as well, with no success! Ended up getting a last minute ticket yesterday via ATG website for Row C in Grand Circle at a discounted £20 price. I'd suggest checking the ATG website a couple of hours before your intended performance - you might find a bargain worth giving up your lottery ticket hopes for. Amber Riley was on great form! I particularly liked Ibinabo Jack as Lorrell.

Apologies if this has been asked before but is Marisha the 1st alternate Effie now? She's back on tonight according to her instagram and I'm keen to return to the show, seeing someone else's take on the role.

She's back on tonight according to her instagram and I'm keen to return to the show, seeing someone else's take on the role. Its meant ot be Karen today so I assume Karen is ill. But Marisha and Karen alternate and when Ruth decides to learn the role she will alternate with them too. But all jokes aside, the three of them alternate one performance a week. There hasn't yet been a time where an emergency meant one had to go on in 2017, but I would imagine Marisha wouls be the first to get the call, mainly because of the incrddible word of mouth and the fact she moved continents to play the role, so they really should give her more than one show every three weeks.

No news on a cast recording?
Wish we'd be the same as NY and record the thing straight after opening night

Thanks danieljohnson14 - she's also tweeted that she's on next Wednesday too. I get the impression she's well worth a specific visit.

... clearly working hard on the show.
I kinda just don't have the time for Ruth. I can't tell if I am bugged by her or the show. If it is the time to rehearse her, the shows fault. But something about her tweets about "I'll be ready by February" really doesn't sit right to me. Like, the show has been open three months, they have had more than enough time to get her in the show. So I get more the feeling it is on her side that she is not prepared for this.
