I don't think it will go to Broadway anytime soon to be truthful, the rumours have kinda died down as of late.

I think it would be with Amber if it did happen, she’s even more well-known in America than here and seriously for me personally I don’t think I’m ever going to hear a voice quite like that in the theatre again. Maybe they’re waiting for her to be ready to do it/recover from the London run? It was definitely a tough year for her.

From what I've heard, Amber's attendance (whether through health or otherwise) is the reason it has been second thought with Amber. Because if the star doesn't turn up and are above the title, refunds are given and lots of money lost.

Yeah I can see how that would cross producers minds but her bad attendance in London was due to the pneumonia, probably the fact that this is a huge sing when you’ve never done live theatre properly before and haven’t built up the stamina and I believe a friend of her’s died midway through the run and there could have been more going on that we weren’t aware of. If she were to do it on Broadway for one she’s probably got into the swing of looking after herself when doing a big show plus how to keep warm and healthy in the winter (no stage door to start with) and if they’re wise they’d put her on 6 shows a week from the start instead of expecting her to do 7.

Oh dont get me wrong, I understand she had health and personal issues. I can understand the inital hesitation as to producers, money is money. I imagine they will, if they choose Amber to go over, have her on an evening show only basis, or only doing six of the eight a week.

I’d personally love for Mean Girls to go into the Savoy once it’s had a bit more time on B’way to prove itself. Dreamgirls could tour. I don’t know if the set would be too difficult to tour with or not?

Her attendance wasn't that bad, first of all. But second of all, she had her set days off, then she had her holidays like everyone else does, then she had a few things happen in her personal life which caused time off. Plus it's a demanding show vocally for someone not used to it. I don't know why it's being made out to be ten times worse than it was.

This is actually one of the main reasons Broadway has been held off. A Broadway producer will naturally and somewhat fairly be thinking can we sell a show on someone who struggled vocally with it, to a point where she didn't do two or three of the performances every week in her revised schedule when she was initially due to miss just one show a week. Its not about the reasoning behind her absence, its about the absence full stop and that absence on Broadway is more costly than it is here.

I had thought they usually just refer to the disclaimer- i.e. that the producers can’t guarantee the appearance of any performer.

Over here it’s only ever done as a gesture of goodwill, we have no entitlement to a refund or exchange.

Oh wow that's an interesting one, the show is on for 8 weeks I think so I wonder how she's managed to get so much time off from the show ?

How popular is that show? Never heard of it. If she comes back after Love Island, do you think the fact that she's been on the show will help with ticket sales? (I know the show is selling well anyway)

(I know the show is selling well anyway) Ahhhh what an interesting way to try and drum up promo. Yeah the show is still fairly popular, and just won its first BAFTA I believe. Although I wouldn't imagine she will return to the show following, as it is anlong time to have off the show?

Is the show coming to Broadway? This question has been asked on a monthly basis since it opened in late 2016. Nothing is confirmed as of yet, it has been postponed a couple of times due to varying reasons.

The issue with doing reality TV, lets be honest, she will loose alot of credibility for alot of people because of the type of show Love Island is. Sometimes performers can do reality TV and then go back to theatre and there being and nothing really changes about their name or the way people view them onstage (looking at the likes of Zoe Birkett going from Big Brother to The Bodyguard). I think her future as a musical performer will be dependant now on how she comes across on this Love Island show.

Sadly I also fall into thst age bracket, and I can't stand the show so we should add "most 18-24's" hahaa

Just read on the Broadway World message borad, Jai'Len Josey (currently in SpongeBob) was allegedly one of the actresses set to take the spot played now by Moya in the West End.
She sounds amazing singing And I Am Telling You for her age (18 at the time, now 19), but she doesn't appear to have the body type and considering SpongeBob is her debut, it would be a really demanding role for someone of her age and experience to do a role like Effie White.
