I have time to see the first matinee of the new cast. I wonder who will be on. I'm so open for any Effie except Marisha, who I have seen twice already and would rather see someone else.

Full cast. Asmeret and Joe stay. Kimmy Edwards takes over Michelle Morris.

I had heard that Nicole Raquel Dennis was going to be alternate Effie (she currently is in Book of Mormon in the same track that Marisha was). My assumption was that Marisha would be lead with Nicole and Karen as alternates, but I wonder now if Nicole will be in the ensemble and understudy Effie as Candace Furbert was this year? Even though she didn't go on.

Thanks theatremadness! So in reality, although she's first cover Effie, the chances of her getting a show will probably be slim. Do we reckon the three Effies will have scheduled shows? Or do we think they'll do a few shows in a row and then switch. Has any show ever had a lead role shared like this before now? It'll be interesting when Moya starts - Marisha seems to have very much had the limelight recently, I wonder how she will react if Moya "steals" some of that.

This is super smart of SF...no one can complain about getting an u/s Effie because like the Matilda’s, they’ll throw someone else on if someone is sick. They’ll probably have two Effie’s in the theatre at all times covering for each other with a rotation that changes every week. I doubt there will be a set schedule.

If they did 4 shows standing by, 4 shows on, and then 4 shows off, this would fit nicely into a 3 week cycle.

Interesting that it’s only booking until June at the moment, when was it previously booking until?

Ooh Moya Angela sounds interesting. I loved 'I Know Why The Caged Bird Sings'.
To be honest, I thought she'd died a few years ago. She looks well enough in the picture though.

I've been aware of one of the three Effies taking over for a few months. I too hope there is a set schedule.

I suspect the schedule will be something like:
Effie 1: Monday, Wednesday and Friday nights.
Effie 2: Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday nights.
Effie 3: Matinees.
Then there is no consecutive shows, plenty of rest time, no excuses *cough* Amber *cough*

I am sure Marisha will tweet out when she is on as she always does...I would be interested in seeing 2 of the three Effies...but the best bet is probably to turn up at the theatre on the day once they post the cast

I feel so sorry for Marisha here. She has worked her butt off in the last year in terms of both covering and out of show promotion and I think she really deserved the top billing on this, especially as her performance is a masterclass in the role. I'm very surprised Karen is sticking around, especially with equal billing. However, I am super excited for Moya, whose And I Am Telling You on YouTube is really quite something - very similar in her movements to Ms Holliday.

The fact that they need 3 people to split the role is laughable. Jennifer Holliday didn't have an alternate, did she??

Marisha has truly worked her as of all year, not only in this show but in raising her UK profile amoungst theatre fans. She has more han earned the lead but thee you go. Least we get to see her on three times a week andmits safe money to assume if one of the girls is ill, she'll behe first on.

Was surprised to see only 2 levels open at the matinee this afternoon! Expected this to be full house (or near to) every performance.

Marisha is good but hugely overrated by some in my opinion (including Marisha herself!) Glad there’s some new blood as I’d not bother returning if she took over. Once seeing her as Effie is enough for me. I would go back to see amber though and even Karen to see how she’s improved.
