You love everyone though, no offence (and definitely not starting any arguments - mainly as im too tired - just making an observation...)

I didn't even know flackers could sing, although tbh haven't seen anything from the show so maybe she doesn't need to sing?!? Off to Google to find out who the heck Irene is and if she sings and whether Caroline can sing. Wish me luck getting out of youtube found it sucks the time out my life if head on there!!!

When I saw it at the Watermill it was actor-musician. I imagine the tour will be as well. 

Where's this from?

I think it's rather brave of Caroline Flack to decide that the 'main' female role was beyond her, and she would be better suited to the more minor role. I suspect many in her position wouldn't have reached that decision.

I saw this last night, sadly I think my review is 'wild indifference'. There's nothing particularly wrong with it, but there's nothing particularly great about it either.

Actual negatives I could tease out: the actor-musician element is nice, but it limits the dancing (and space on stage even in the WMC) and personally I think this is a piece that would benefit from some bigger dance routines- espcially having cast the Strictly folks. In that respect it never really takes off. The actor-musicians also mean it's a bit of a muted sound in what could be some really big numbers.

Performances: Sorry to say Caroline Flack isn't great and I was rooting for her, in fairness it's the first week and I think with time she'll grow into it, it's not a big part or a difficult one so I think she needs time to settle it all feelt a bit stilted. Chambers is great, he does a good line in slapstick and has some good comic timing in general, as well as being a charming leading man and good singer. The enesemble are a great bunch who work really hard and pull off some excellent comedy too.

The music is, as expected great, but let down a bit by the slightly muted sound of the smaller orchestra.

Dancing is...not as good as I'd have hoped. A few good routines from Chambers but I'd have liked more- and a more variety than his tap routines and one ballroom ish bit.

It was a nice enough evening out, and as I say there's nothing actually bad about it just nothing to make it stand out as a really great show.

What disappointed me most about the park version is it had taken so much from the original..but didn't do it so well. Also the leading lady was awful

I will say that this is it's first week and I feel like once the actors grow into their parts a bit/settle into the show it'll all be much slicker and therefore all the better for it. There really is nothing intrinsically bad about it and I'd still recomend it to particularly the casusal musical theatre lover as a nice night out.

Oh god. Thank heavens I got this at half price.
