What a difference a day makes!
This time yesterday, I was halfway through a four hour sunbathing session in the park. Today, I had to wear my anorak to pop to the shops in the rain.
I still bought some ice cream though - 89p each, or two tubs for £1.50. Proper stuff, too, that has actually seen a cow.

A couple of UK gaming channels I follow on YouTube decided to have a fundraiser for the NAACP And on another channel the stream host took a break to get a glass of water having raised around $9150, someone in the chat suggested they should push to reach $10k before she came back, and before you know it someone else had chipped in with a £900 donation to make it happen. |

Work has announced we're likely to be working from home for between 6-12 months, am climbing the walls now.
Cruddy day improved by having curlew cam on my phone all day, nothing like bird song and new life to cheer you though did rather surprise colleague on phone to me when I looked at the screen and announced 'where's the parent, the chick isn't moving!' and she had no idea how that fitted into a planned regulation day.

I've decided to come off social media for a few days, it's too much right now. Too much bad news and sadness and too much judgement about what people post or don't post or for going out or not going out. Argh! This place will do for now!

I'm saving it...not for another rainy day, but a sunny one! Today's treat was a slice, or three, of iced Madeira cake from the Co-op, reduced from £1.35 to only 35p. Thank goodness it came with full instructions, otherwise I wouldn't have had a clue what to do. "HOW TO PREPARE - Remove all packaging. Place cake onto a flat surface and with a sharp serrated knife, cut using a sawing action. Make sure you clean the blade between slices " I've always been a bit of a maverick, so I didn't actually bother with the sawing bit, and just cut straight down. It still worked a treat, but then my knife was made in Sheffield. 🙂 |

Could just eat a cream scone now 😋 I've never understood why anyone would put cream then jam - the jam will just fall off the cream! A thick spread of jam first, then a pile of cream as high as you want, that's the only way to do it for me, you get much more cream that way! |

M&S apparently think they have solved the problem and just launched a strawberry flavoured clotted cream which, frankly, sounds awful.

I get round the whole issue by only ever putting jam on! I don't like cream. Actually as long as they're not too dry I'm happy to have scones without jam/cream/butter/anything at all.

Scones are one of the few things I'll have cream on, along with sundaes and trifles. I'm not a huge fan of cream: I'll have whipped cream on something if it comes that way but not otherwise. Never butter, though.
And like Dawnstar I'm perfectly happy to eat dry scones.

Got up early to drop off compost. Ran some errands. Ate a cinnamon bun! Going to take a nap now. Have a Zoom birthday party to attend tonight.

I think the problem lies in the spreading... the correct technique for cream on scones (always on top of jam) is to dollop ;-) |
