Worked until 2.30am, back at my desk at 8.45, just left the office at 9pm.
Off on holiday first thing tomorrow morning - much needed but I suspect I shall be wandering around like a zombie for the first day or so!

I’ve got a really painful skin infection which is just making me not want to do anything as it hurts to move.

You have my sympathy d'James . I had to have pre-travel vacciantions on Wednesday & 3 days later it still hurts to move my left arm, though in my case it's the muscles rather than the skin that are sore. I also started a cold on Wednesday and have had to cancel yesterday's & today's theatregoing so am pretty unhappy all round :-(

I put in 28 hours just on Monday and Tuesday this week, @posterj, so I know how you feel and sympathise. I knew it was really bad yesterday evening when I was surprised that Rabbi Williams was holding a Chanukah party at Wembley Arena on 16th December. A second go at reading revealed it was the Robbie Williams Christmas Party, which does sound more commercially viable. Thank goodness we all get an extra hour in bed this weekend is all I'm saying. I sympathise with you as well monkey! I can at least report I did not sleep through my 4am alarm and successfully made my very early flight! And yes, the extra hour will be very, very welcome...

But sounds like 'travel' in the offing so that must be good.

Not if you're me, who doesn't like going abroad & swore never to set foot in Africa but now has to go on a 3 week cruise that includes 2 ports in Morocco, hence the injections. I'm so terrified of picking up some stomach bug there (I'm phobic about being sick) that I'm not yet sure if I'm actually going to have the nerve to go on land when we get there.

I had a little cider last night which made me feel really hot, and the doctor said if I have a fever I have to go straight to hospital so I don’t want to get confused lol

So many bugs around - sympathy all! I'm at the tail end of what seems like an endless cough, but definitely on the mend.
And my neighbour's bloody mattress is still in the alleyway.

Morocco is a fascinating country and well worth getting off the ship. I was there for 10 days and didn't get sick once, so as long as you are careful where you eat you will be fine. A lot of the food is quite plain - meat or veg tagines with couscous or rice, so you should be ok.

I ordered a beautiful dress from Amazon marketplace last month. It was coming from China. - It never arrived. They gave me a full refund no problem yesterday. I now suspect they never posted it as today it is showing online at twice the price I paid. Anyone else had that happen?

The organised tours we're doing are only 3-4 hours. I'm not keen on either couscous or rice anyway - when I say I'm a fussy eater I mean it!

When I was a child I once read a mystery set on a cruise ship where the villain poisoned the baklava. I've never been able to face it since! (See also Turkish Delight due to Narnia.)

On Wednesday 18 March I'll be travelling by train from Kent to Manchester for the matinee of Back To The Future. I just tried to book Zorro Musical at Hope Mill with view to staying overnight in Manchester but I've left it too late and 18 March is already sold out (the only sold out date in the entire run, just my luck!). On Thursday 19 March I'm seeing the matinee of Phantom Of The Opera in Leicester. As things stand I'll be getting home from Manchester very late on Wednesday and leaving again for Leicester by 10 am on Thursday so I'm still considering staying overnight if I can find another musical, professional or amateur, to see on Wednesday evening somewhere within about a 75 minute train journey from Manchester.
Cabaret at Sheffield is an option but I've seen that recently. Can't find anything in Leeds or Liverpool. I've found Chicago (amateur) at Colne but that's a 90 minute bus journey away.
Any other suggestions appreciated.

Any other suggestions appreciated. There's 9 to 5 in Heywood, close to Manchester, Priscilla in Stoke, just two stops down the West Coast Mainline, and Our House at Cast in Doncaster, which is 77 minutes by train from Manchester. All amatuer.

Thanks TP, Priscilla is definitely appealing. I preferred the last two amateur productions of that to the current professional touring show.

There will be a return for the sold out show. There always is (especially in peak lurgy season).

Saw Paddy Considine and his band Running The Low at Oslo in Hackney tonight and I was impressed - the band were pretty tight and he had a more than decent singing voice: maybe it’s time for him and Shane Meadows to team up for a musical? (he shook my hand at the end of the show which also impressed me no end)

1 November, so obviously the library has posted its Christmas opening hours. All the old men who live there clearly need time to plan ahead.
And every window that can be opened, is open!
