Deep Heat is also an excellent cure (wine makes it even more effective, obviously).
Today I discovered that it is possible to push yourself so hard at the gym that you get sick even though you deliberately ate well over an hour before going to the gym to try to avoid that exact scenario...clearly I need to get my body more used to doing cardio!

This evening I discovered a couple of individual Christmas puddings that I bought last year and decided to keep for a while and then kept overlooking.
One down, one to go.

I rarely post on this thread being somewhat wary of social media but oh my goodness, how amazing is this?! This is one of my projects at Kensington Palace and something I’m passionate about so this kind of recognition for the work my incredible group of guides and interpreters do has absolutely made my day! www.euansguide.com/news/our-round-up-of-the-uks-top-signed-tours/

According to Boots the Chemist in Islington, men today wish to leave the shower smelling of ... "Unicorn." Presumably to appeal to the horsey set (although traditional unicorns are based on antelopes, but I don't think there's an antelopey set). There's probably a wealth of puns about being horny there somewhere but I can't be bothered.

Today was really good - saw Wicked in Sunderland. Currently on the train home and it is AWFUL. So many drunks.
Remind me, next time I’m seeing a show at the Sunderland Empire, to book the quiet coach on the way home.

I have a choir concert at 2pm. Which firstly is a stupid time (as I have to be there for 1) Secondly people have been 'encouraged' to bring their kids and let them 'run free' ...you can see how this is filling me with delight.

Out having a modest walk, minding my own business when I was stung by the most vicious wasp with zero warning or provocation - ie I hadn't eaten or drunk anything, wasn't waving my arms about etc. When I got home OH informed me that the later in the season, the more potent the venom in the sting. I've tried Afterbite (which lives in my rucksack in case) and an anti-histamine tablet but it still hurts.

Which firstly is a stupid time (as I have to be there for 1) Secondly people have been 'encouraged' to bring their kids and let them 'run free' ...you can see how this is filling me with delight. Reader, it was as bad as we imagined. One choir member refused to put down her children for the entire concert and therefore sang with them attached to her or dancing around her. Another child thought 'How Great thou Art' was the PERFECT song to give her own dance recital in front of the choir singing (bear in mind we mostly sing musical theatre and pop and encouraged the kids to dance along with those numbers, but no Mummy and Daddy couldn't tell special Susan to sit down nicely with all the other kids for 4 minutes). On the up side it was a lovely old stately home venue and all that was very nice. And there are now several songs I never have to sing again.

According to Boots the Chemist in Islington, men today wish to leave the shower smelling of either "Lemon and Lime," "Orange Zest," "Marshmallow" or "Unicorn."* What the heck is wrong with a man simply wanting to leave the shower smelling of "man who knows he has to shower at least once a day to be civilized"? *For the record, I shall whiff of the other alternative - "bergamot and sea minerals" for the foreseeable, as it was on special offer and the least weird I could find. Least weird?? At least I know what Lemons, limes, marshmallows and unicorns are. Whatever a bergamot is, it hasn't reached North Wales yet!

Whatever a bergamot is, it hasn't reached North Wales yet! It's a citrus, like a cross between a lemon and orange but more bitter. It's also what makes Earl Grey tea taste like Earl Grey tea.

Well I've just re-dyed my hair to try and cover those pesky white bits, they're now covered but so it turns out are the tips of my ears and it won't wash off, I have short hair so i'm going to have to try and keep everyone at a distance or where a woolly hair it seems.

A bit late posting but on Sunday I went along to the Royal Academy to hear David Bailey being interviewed and talking about his work. Fascinating stuff and the man still has charisma oozing out of every pore !

Colleague under extreme stress from workload. He's a little sweetiepie so I offered to help him scan some large (as in A0 drawings) through the large scale plotter. Walked over, inserted the first drawing, looked for the scan button and pressed the off switch ...
Collapsed with giggles with much deep sighing from direction of sweetiepie.
I made him tea instead ...

Ooh, and if you can get those ear-rings with little flashing lights in them too... Theatreboard fashion tips for this Christmas. I am as I'm sure you can guess a rabid follower of fashion tips. I never base my clothing choices on how many pockets something has or how much it will show up the dirt if I happen to sit on the ground 😉

I went to a quiz. Was the only participant. In true British spirit we recruited a random man and the bar staff and played individually. I came second and won a teams worth of free coffee (so 7). Result!

Slightly late, as this is about Thursday, but it was not only my first visit to London but also my first time seeing any cinema or theatre in all but 6 (SIX!) weeks, which is unprecedented in my adult lifetime.
I never intended the gap to be so long; I just wanted a little break from London in August though not from seeing things, so I happened not to have much booked ahead. Then OH became very unwell quite unexpectedly, so just as well I was around and by the time he was recovering somewhat, I was due to go away for a week, meaning I was champing at the bit when at last I was able to resume my culture fix.
Still, the advantage was that it was good practice for when I have my 2 ops later this year and early next, as I'll be out of action for 4 weeks each time and unable to do much for a 10-week period in total, so I know I can do it if I must. Shame my bank balance didn't benefit but not going to London didn't stop me spending!

Re emicardiff, I was just alerted to loud chanting voices in the street below and looked out to see a mob of Cardiff City football fans swarming down the road under heavy police escort as they made their way toward Stamford Bridge. They're in a good mood now but if they lose to Chelsea this afternoon things might get a little fraught on the return journey. I'm told the Cardiff fans are somewhat prone to mayhem - true, Em?

Funny enough I was on a train with Swansea City and Nottingham Forest fans today (thankfully I’ve missed them on the return) Having witnessed Forest fans during my time in Nottingham I’m relieved. And erm yeah good luck with that if they lose...lucky for me the Football stadium is the opposite side of the city from me so I rarely encounter them!
