I went to see a film in a neighbouring town this morning. Not much traffic on the roads but what there was was moving slowly because of a white rented van that was doing 15mph below the speed limit all the way. Made it to the cinema just in time. Did some shopping afterwards, set off home, traffic moving slowly, white van far ahead at the front of the queue. Logo looks familiar. Nah, couldn't be. Finally get a chance to pass it. Oh, come on! It's the same bloody van! This route carries an average of 20,000 vehicles a day and I end up behind the same one both ways‽ How frustrating and unfortunate, The Matthew - hope at least the film was good and worth the trip - what did you see? Moana; not for the first time. It was surprisingly busy for early on a Sunday morning. The downside to it all was that I had to sit through a trailer for a Peppa Pig movie. Words cannot express how much I loathe Peppa Pig. It feels like the design objective for the whole thing was "make it look as cheap as possible". I pity any parents who have to sit through it with their children.

Two drinks afterwork last night turned into far too many drinks, so I've been (deservedly) suffering a little today. Work loomed scarily large, but when I arrived i was greete dwith the news that tonights concert has been cancelled, and therfore my shift truncated somewhat. Great news for me, though I do of course feel sorry for the disappointed patrons. Watched the Lego Batman movie slast weekend, wa quite dispointed by it, entertaining but not a patch on The Lego Movie which I loved. 'I've just seen your face on Songs of Praise'...better that than Crimewatch I guess! Are we to assume then Emi you have been on Crimewatch previously? haha

Watch out, emicardiff: next you'll be featuring in the thread about famous people seen at the theatre!
Or are you notorious rather than famous? A fine line sometimes - and a slippery slope, too...

Today I hit the snooze button 7 times... and was late for work. I realised I'd forgotten my phone half way up the street, went back for it, and as a result missed my train literally by a minute (I saw it pulling away from the platform). So, also late for work. Gah. Will have to stay late now.

I'm working from home today and having a surprisingly productive day so far - there's something to be said for not having to go through the whole faff of getting dressed up for work and commuting!

I was late to work today too, but I'd prearranged it with my line manager so enjoyed a cheeky extra hour in bed rather than having a mad rush-around. Yes, I'm EXTREMELY obnoxiously smug about it, I hadn't realised how badly I needed even just a tiny lie-in. Hope you all do better for the rest of the week! (And I'm back in at my normal horribly early time tomorrow so I don't get to be smug for long.)

A couple of weeks ago I bought a cinema banner for Moana on eBay. A banner-sized package arrived this afternoon. Turned out to contain several banners for Sing, several quads and one-sheets for Sing, and for some reason one quad for Ballerina.
I am displeased, mainly because I had to roll up five banners and an uncounted number of posters and fit them back into their box, including moving furniture around to create space to do it. Isn't it strange how once something is unrolled it never seems to want to roll up into the diameter it had before?

Also working from home and have been mired in spreadsheet hell since dawn (or so it seems). Emerging for air*, fresh or otherwise. And wine, in a bit.
*And ice cream. Because, ice cream.

They were giving away cupcakes for Valentines Day at my local station. Unfortunately, by the time I got there, they had all gone. Just about set the tone for my day.

Oh and I are having a typically romantic Valentine's Day evening: he has gone to the football and I've been to the osteopath.

Just had an email from temp agency asking if I'd be interested in a job that is evenings-only. I replied that I'm only interested in jobs that are for regualar office hours as I insist on having evenings & weekends free for theatregoing. Getting my priorities right!

Well I spent lunchtime crying on the phone to my Mother because of seemingly endless job related frustrations. But then I ended up crying on the way home for some good not-the-day-job related news.
So a balance of crying on er balance?
And I've just eaten some of Mum's Birthday cake. So not all bad.
