Spoke too soon. Losing 2 is a big blow! What was the opportunity in the west end that Jazzie wasu offered No it was Callum who was offered opportunity (at the menier) jazzie was the one who received the message from Callum.

Definitely Callum. I saw him in She Loves Me at the Menier yesterday. He was brilliant, and has a CV as long as your arm, singing, serious acting, dancing, having been performing since he was a child (I've just been reading the programme).

So are the several 'bands' in the show the ones going into the musical? I thought the public would choose 5 boys they liked across the whole competition and then they'd be put in a band? Is that right or is one of the bands already put together going to be in the show?

Even Cam Mac describing Jodie Prenger as "matronly" wasn't enough to dissuade the viewers from voting for her. Still, Jessie Buckley hasn't done badly; in fact, she's done a great deal better... I'd say she has. Going home to James (Phwoar & Peace) Norton every night ain't a bad deal!

It seems its the bands going into the live shows competing against each other really doesnt seem fair.why not the 5 best individuals then worry about blending them together. The current format could miss out on some good talent

Yes, most boy bands (e.g. One Direction) were just individual boys put together and then they worried about them getting on and working as a team (or not).
This seems bizarre in that the "bands" have already been selected in a "random" way - not! Yes, the show will lose some great lads in the losing bands unless they introduce standbys or covers.
As I said up the thread - the chances of seeing all 5 of the original band selected during an 8 show week will be slim with illness and holidays etc. So they will have to pick covers I would have thought from the other guys, so at least the coach parties see "someone off the telly". However, this of course makes a mockery of the " you have to work as a group/team" etc. In practise they will be 5 actors performing roles in a show - they will not be touring the world as a "band". It is a totally different thing.

It's funny watching the ones with a long Theatre background. They really seem to look down on the process.

I'm sure I saw a musical a few years at the Savoy called Never Forget which was about a boy band and the music of Take That. Isn't this new one the same thing?

And by god we are going to KEEP having it until we appriciate it! I say let Gary cheat as much tax as his greedy bland existence can as long as it keeps him out of our hair. Remember, he'd never even stepped into a theatre before he got caught

Appreciate that but the subject matter seems identical. I did like the rain curtain that spelt out words though that's the only bit I remember from the show.

More on "Never Forget" here - news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/entertainment/7416112.stmIt was put together without Take That's involvement/ permission - EMI licensed the rights to the songs for the musical, during the period before Take That reformed. Nearly 10 years ago!

What is very clear is that GB cannot sustain a career without being propped up by the TT brand. While they were split up the man couldn't get arrested. Then they reformed (albeit without Gobbie Williams) and started putting on those wildly successful stadium tours and all of a sudden he was huge again.
Despite a furher drop out and the band now being a "three-piece" as Gary describes it (you can take the man out of the working men's club etc..) they keep flogging it because without TT he is absolutely nothing, and the other two are even less. Even big head Mark Owen has finally conceded and given up trying to maintain a career on his own. At least the other two had the decency to leave.
I have nothing against Gary, he's written some great pop songs but as a solo performer he is a complete dud. I have no objection to someone with a pop background getting into MT (go Cyndi!) but not as some desperate last ditch attempt to gain personal recognition and boost their ego. I think that's what it's all about for him.

The BBC website offers no information, so leaves little clue as to how the contestants are eliminated. BTW, the band names have been decided - some of them are predictably awful - Neon Panda, really?!!!! link

Tim Driesden and Dean Chisnall were in the original cast and I'm sure Nikki Davis Jones was one of the supporting cast.
"Tinhead from Brookside" was on the tour.
The original cast show was released on DVD. I got a copy from Pound land! 😂
Just read this online re the history of it. Very interesting...
In April 2006, EMI licensed the Take Thatsongs to be used in Never Forget. At the time,Take That had not performed together since the 1990s. Soon thereafter, however, the band re-formed. In 2007, Take That posted the following statement on their website: "The band would like to state categorically that this production is being undertaken with neither their involvement nor their endorsement. They would wish their fans and the general public to know that this production is absolutely and 100 per cent nothing to do with Take That."[10]
After the musical's opening in London, Gary Barlow told the BBC, "At first I thought it sounded horrible... [but] the reports I've seen have been really good so there must be something good in it. I'm just worried that they're better than us."[9]
