One thing that was odd though, did I hear Gary say they were welcoming auditions from all ages, races and genders? Genders? Yeah I heard that too Sounded a bit strange when trying to find a boyband.

Just watching this - horrible doesn't even come close. I'm constantly grimacing with pain.
Edit: So painful, can't cope with it. Just turned it off.

I lasted about 31 minutes but it was painful. Never watching it again and I trust the relatively decent viewing figures they got will plummet Week by week until just Gary's family are watching. Why can't the judges just tell the truth? "You can't sing, you shouldn't sing, pursue another career - any other career."

That Irish kid who did New York NewYork was a total joke. Yet he got through.
These boys are just fodder. I hope they knew that when they signed up.

Painful on every level... Poor Mel, stuck in the back room. Poor Graham, made to wear those shiny suits at his age. Poor Gary B, being made to do that opening number... (Who made him do it?) Oh, and the poor brothers and sisters who have to look pleased for their siblings.
Is it performed on La Soiree's stage?
Such an inappropriately macho play area out back too.
(I thought I had a big quiff... I'm gonna hafta getma selfa hat.)

Poor Gary B, being made to do that opening number... (Who made him do it?) I'm sure he had no problem with that! It was actually very similar to the opening number he wrote for James Corden at the Tonys.

I thought that number was the only vaguely entertaining part of the whole sorry affair!

Come back ALW, all is forgiven. I really hope he does. They could do one for Evita.

I loved the format and the one off Spandau Ballet but the contestants were painful. Have to wonder if they put loads of crap one through so it's easier to get the desired five at the end.

So they tell a 35 yr old he's not suitable for a role in the boy band and then then put through an overweight rocker. Makes no sense.

Dannii "in theatre you have to move people".
How many audience members has she moved? (people going towards the exit don't count).
I agree with Gary that the lad from the cruise ship has so much potential. Only decent one so far for me.
Not impressed with the Mamma Mia guy at all.

Dannii "that was too theatrical".
There are no words.

Can see that builder being the "Howard" of the band.
I'd be at stage door every night.

Watched more this week than last week. Between 7:00-8:00 I was flicking between this and Ninja Warrior UK but at 8:00 I put this on and enjoyed it. Only watched part of the voice when this finished for Jennifer Hudson but eventually turned off to watch soemthimg on record.
This is all great publicity for 'The Band' when the show does open and I also wouldn't be surprised if The Girls performed on one of the live shows, surely?
Amber Riley makes a great judge and seems like a very personable lady!

Haven't watched 1 minute of this yet, on my Sky+ but somehow reading this thread I don't feel inspired to, I don't know why!
Has this ship sailed?

I'm watching the second episode right now. Pretty sure I was in a show with Dillon Reid's dad. Dillon may or may not have been in it too. I just remember his dad wasn't very pleasant.
