I'm in London June 9-17, not sure if the big proper meet up would be arranged for the dates (you сan't be so lucky twice, I guess), but I am more than ready to meet for pre-theatre drinks and coffees at the TheatreCafe and all such things in smaller groups danieljohnson14 - I'm seeing the Kite Runner on the 12th and Terror in Hammersmith on the 16th, but both are doable

I am going to see Soulwax at the Royal Festival Hall on June 10th, but that doesn't sat until half nine, so I would be available for most of the day.

I was going to suggest the July 22nd one over on the Wicked thread. It can still attract non Wicked attendees aka the glued to the same table crew Yes, the group that came last time was fabulous, I'm sure we can drag them out again (@ryan , andrew , Sam and James... your names are awkward to tag!) and daniel to name but a few). and we can get newer members (ala martello736 and others) to come along too... will be fabulous!
I think I'm down to play softball with work that evening (I know, sporty, me!), and I assume on a weeknight people wouldn't be going for drinks after, so I'd probably miss out on that one

I'll be in London 15 - 18th June. I'll be daytripping out to Chatham on Friday 16th, but could do something on Saturday noon-ish before the matinees.

I want to do a matinee of "Yank!" at Charring Cross sometime in July. I'm flexible on dates. Anyone want to say hello?

Right at the start of a glorious coalition of chaos in the national interest, rejecting strong and stable self-interest.

What time do you leave on the 12th, as I am doing Mamma Mia dress rehearsal in the afternoon and unknown in the evening, so can work around your life if you wanna meet up

Why not have a TheatreBoard breakfast meet up? Oh no, I expect that's the time for softball warm up training.

Breakfast would work. I don't reckon many surface before noon though 'Scuse me: I'm usually up by 4 - 4.30 am - & that's later than when I worked shifts & naturally woke much earlier. It was so useful but being a lark isn't great for theatre-going.

I'm fading by then! Seriously, how do people who travel a long way &/or queue early for a day seat then stay awake for the performance itself - and the trip home?

Worst for me was 2am train into London, daysat for Made in Dagenham's final performance from 4am, got the tickets at 10:30am, wondered around London until 3pm for a Matilda matinee, then dinner, then the final performance, eventually that lead to getting home at about 1am the next morning.
The shows themselves were worth it!

I don't find it too bad. Back in the days when I was willing to day seat Wicked at cast change I'd be on those steps from about 3am. Once tickets sorted into Witherspoon's for a breakfast. Battle through til matinee time and then go for a wine or 2 between shows. Hang around after and get the 0005 back to Brighton from Victoria

I suppose each person works out, by trial and error, a system which suits her/him. I know when I worked nights I was fine doing things throughout the next day; it was stopping that would cause a problem, so I didn't, and exercise seemed to work as a sleep substitute. But for me having alcohol at any time would increase the likelihood of nodding off, so I certainly couldn't risk it if I was already tired or had a late night ahead.
