As someone without expertise in musicals I have to say this was very good and I'm astonished to learn I saw the understudy to the understudy, because she was brilliant! Also did her fictional hubby get himself injured during the performance??? He had a walking-stick at the end but seemed to be dancing freely in the first half. Funnily enough,Darius is meant to have a cane ar the beginning for his entrance but not again really so he musta injured himself or something. Darius had a cane/walking stick and was hobbling for quite a lot of the second half...I presumed it was part of the show - is it not? |

Seen it twice, from what I can remember, definitely not part of the show. In his song "Temporary Arrangement" he even does a conveyor belt number. So he doesn't have a cane or hobble at all in the Second Half.  |

So did the sign outside the theatre say "Due to the Indispostion of Natasha" or Sheridan? There's a pic of the announcement on Twitter. It says Sheridan. Ah, so the production are seeing Natasha as just an understudy rather than a replacement. That is strange considering they have reviews for Natasha and photos outside. |

I think it's because Sheridan is still officially the lead and Natasha 1st cover - if NJB were to permanently take over officially, then it would be her name rather than Sheridan's on there. At least that's how I interpret it |

I don't think he even managed to change out of his Act One costume. Respect due that he carried on. From the second row it was obvious he was in real pain. Not sure how he managed to carry off the songs. The company rallied round to help him make it to the end, when he finally had a cane to help at the curtain call, though he couldn't even bow. We were wincing every time he moved through most of the second half. Hope he's OK. Clare Rickard (who was very good as Fanny) had even more pressure with this added drama, but did really well. |

It could also be that Natasha maybe has scheduled holiday and they are putting in Clare as the understudy to Sheridan so giving her chance to run the role before Natasha goes on holiday and Sheridan returns? Just a thought. But alas most of this forum is just random thoughts since we have nothing concrete! |

I know I've contributed to the silliness but I do feel we should just start again, lock this thread and just have strict rules in the newer one. No repetitive questions etc. Probably draconian but feel some aren't getting the message now. |

Darius did very well to carry on from the sounds of it. Good for him. I was not particularly a fan of him before this production but he has won me over in this.

He wouldn't be able to do that conveyor belt number in Act I during I Want To Be Seen With You or I Am Woman, You Are Man tonight if he can barely move, it would be really unsafe. It could do him more damage. |
