Eh, the cast recording came out recently and people are giving their opinions. Whilst Sheridan may be an easy target to some, she is also defended to a degree that others wouldn't be too so it all evens out. No one is commenting on Sheridan as a person, just that her vocals on this cast recording aren't up to scratch in many people's eyes (or ears) and this is also reflected by the reviews on iTunes and other places.

It's ok, I'm not surprised. It is nothing new. There have always been people who bash her vocals ever since even Legally Blonde so it was to be expected.  |

Nobody ever looked good repeatedly trying to tell people that they are wrong in liking something. Isn't giving an opinion once good enough? Does repeating it make it more convincing?

Well I agree no one should be told they are wrong for liking something, but I don't see much of that happening here, it's just people stating their own opinions? Unless I'm missing something?

Haven't bothered reading this thread for a whlle because of the pointless bickering and negativity. One quick look and it hasn't changed. Why do people obsess over something they didn't like sometime ago? I just don't understand why people work themselves up over something that they should have moved on from months ago. You haven't read the thread in a while - you've had a "quick look" and jumped to an incorrect conclusion. The purpose of the thread is to discuss Funny Girl the musical - the cast recording was released yesterday and people are unbelievably (I know!!!) commenting on it. As someone who has read the thread let me tell you there is no-one "working themselves up over nothing" or bickering, if we all had the same opinion life would be very boring X |

Sheridan is an easy target. People will do anything to knock her. Is she Barbra, no. But she sounds great on the Cast Recording. Its a shame that someone acts whilst they are singing and they get knocked for it. If she just sang I, she would of course sound like a typical musical theatre performer. But it is clear through this she is acting and trying to really get into the character through her vocals on the Recording. FYI Natasha also acts whilst she's singing 👌🏻but manages to not sound like kermit I didn't say anything about Natasha m'lovely. |

I must have missed all these posts by the same person repeatedly trying to tell people that they're wrong in liking something. Aren't a number of different people just posting their opinions of the cast recording and several are unimpressed by Sheridan's vocals? |

and those who are constantly posting they "don't like Sheridan's vocals, Natasha is better" are no doubt the same who were complaining when the question of when she was returning kept being brought up over and over again. Natasha does Monday shows so you can go to those and the rest of us who enjoy watching Sheridan can do so too. I hope it doesn't come across in my praise of Natasha that I'm saying people shouldn't see Funny Girl with Sheridan.. I just feel obliged every so often to mention in the thread how amazing the alternate is in the role and hope by doing so fans of the show (who I imagine would be people visiting the thread alongside Sheridan fans) will perhaps consider seeing the show with Natasha. You have to admit that if you asked a hundred people who would they want to see in the role probably 98 people would say Sheridan so I don't think it's out of order for people who have seen and loved Natasha in the role to sing her praises. |

Just why would someone who didn't like the production get the recording and proceed to repeat the same things they stated before buying something they knew they wouldn't like?!
