Sorry - I just wanted to say one thing - George, I once sent a fan letter to an actress, didn't get a reply, but met her at stage door two years later and when I mentioned a job I'd done (which I'd put in the letter) she turned and said "Did you once write me a letter?" and said how much the letter had meant and that she'd wanted to reply to it but had lost it. So if you don't get a reply, and I really hope you do, don't be disheartened because it doesn't necessarily mean she didn't read it or didn't like it or didn't care. That's so nice! Yeah I'm sure a no reply doesn't mean they haven't read it! It would be so nice if I met a celebrity and they remembered my letter! I'm so hopeful I get to stage door here and then I can hopefully do it more often!

george22 - have you been to the stage door after seeing any other shows? If you haven't it might be an idea to go round after another show to meet the cast leaving and see what it's like and get some practice in? It is usually a good experience and most of the cast are usually pleased for the attention.

Very good tip wickedgrin. Especially as funny girl will be pretty busy and as an experience it can be quite intense and more so when you add in meeting your idol

Especially if the star has particularly ardent fans. I recall once popping to the stage door with a friend who wanted to meet Miss John Barrowman after 'La Cage Aux Folles'. Oh my. Those women are frightening. I was bitch slapped with an HRT patch just for suggesting that I preferred the delightful Simon Burke in the show. And then when La B appeared at the door? I've not seen a stampede like that since a childhood safari trip to Kenya.

I gave them a little call. I got put through to the manager I believe, Glen. He was very helpful and nice and we had a chat about the fact the latecomers were quite distracting to the show and there being a few too many and later on. I have to say, he was very responsive, we chatted about the fact that some people are quite abrasive towards staff if they turn up late and cannot come right in. He is going to check the logs and also check a few things out regarding the policy etc.
Anyway, we was discussing the show, I started out by saying how much I loved it and Natasha, I said how I enjoyed her portrayal even more then Barbara's, he then said he was going straight away to pass on my comments to her, which I thought was nice, he said it will make her day.

I too much prefered the other Mr B in that show, and went to get his CD signed after...and made a hasty retreat when big-B emerged! (Wilderbeast have got nothing on those ladies!!)

It is usually a good experience and most of the cast are usually pleased for the attention. I've stage doored very briefly for a production in the past, just to get the jist of it. I've never really thought about doing it before to be honest. If the stage dooring goes well at Funny Girl, then I'd love to do it more often for shows like The Bodyguard, Sister Act, Dreamgirls etc. and whenever there is a show with a star I like in it. I agree though, it is the fact that it is going to be inevitably busy at the stage door that is going to prove fairly tricky!

Stage Door there is usually a very pleasant experience. If you have the misfortune to go when she is just back and it is inevitably besieged by paparazzi it will be less so.

I'm really excited for the Cast Recording in a few weeks! I can't wait to hear Sheridan sing those songs again, both onstage and on recording!

. And then when La B appeared at (Wilderbeast have got nothing on those ladies!!) Ah, yes, John B fans. I think only Michael Ball fans can rival them for their noisy devotion. You're never in doubt about who they've come to see.

Take a deep breath, look him in the eye (or her if it's a lady, although it works better if he's a man) and say: Hey, Mr Producer, I'm talking to you, sir, I don't need a lot, Only what I got, Plus a word with Sheri And a follow spot... This should work...

we may as well change the title of this thread to George22 as it has absolutely nothing to do with the show itself anymore :L
