I'm not actually finally getting round to seeing this until September and I'm actually excited at this stage that I have no idea who I could end up seeing. Sheridan has always been a negative for me , it's just a musical i need to tick off the list.

I'm pretty sure she's not coming back. As far as I'm aware they're looking for others to fill the role, so that 2-4 weeks might get extended... If SS doesn't come back and if they then replace Natasha Barnes without a very good reason for doing so (i.e. she can't commit for some reason) then I will be pretty annoyed. I think these recent few weeks have shown that you don't have to have a star name to deliver excellent performances; ticket sales have held up and Natasha has been critically acclaimed. Yes, I know that many/most of the original tickets were sold on Sheridan's name, but tickets are still selling well. If Natasha had been widely criticised then it would be a different matter, but given that Natasha's performance has been universally lauded it would be a complete slap in the face for her (and an insult to those thousands of people who have enjoyed her performance over these last few weeks) to now say "you aren't good enough to finish the run". Why shouldn't she be considered a 'star' in her own right from an exceptional stage performance rather than them needing a TV name? I'd dearly love to think that producers have learnt from this experience - audiences have taken Natasha to heart. The fact that they appear to be doing some publicity around her encourages me to think they are willing to back her to a certain extent. Sadly, I know that I should be more realistic - it isn't only the producers that need to take note, but the ticket buying public - I have no doubt that Funny Girl would have been unlikely to have made it to the Savoy without Sheridan's name attached.

There are even posters up of Natasha and some of her reviews outside the Savoy now!

If she is replaced with another name then I an maybe understand it, but to replace with another 'unknown' would be pointless. They are better to run on the positive buzz for natasha

I'm annoyed that she's still considered an understudy: after 8 shows a week for 4 weeks you're not an understudy, but a (at least temporary) replacement.

I'm only kidding. Your adoration of her is delightful To be fair you do gush about her so much I feared you may be posting from a vantage point (bush) outside her flat. Yeah that totally makes me a stalker... Seriously? I'm sure you have a favourite celebrity too!

SS is not coming back... It's pretty obvious. They wouldn't be changing front of house pictures over to Natasha unless she was going to be continuing on in the role.
It will only be a matter of time till the 2nd cover goes on too

Sheridan's name is still above the title and there are still boards with her on them.

I'd love to get a dayseat for this, but unfortunately, it isn't practical for me to get into London before lunchtime.
A cheeky request - if anyone who is close enough ever plans to dayseat for a single ticket and wouldn't mind getting a second for me, then please PM me!
I saw Sheridan at the Menier, but really want to see Natasha.

Seems odd to have this email sent out at the end of the 4 week absence, to not mention the original leading lady all while saying the show is on until October. It heavily implies natasha is the lead

Love theatre is a pretty well established agency and they don't send things like this out on a whim.

Also worth noting that Lovethetre is owned by ATG!

Interesting. Maybe this is a strong hint then. We booked on the strength of Sheridan but if she's not up to it then her health is more important.

Also worth noting that Lovethetre is owned by ATG! Which would explain the astronomical booking fees!

I know someone mentioned this a few pages back, but I've just listened to it and thought I would post the link to the Women's Hour interview with Natasha Barnes. Hopefully the following link takes you to the right time in the programme: www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b07cmjxb#playt=0h15m51sAn interesting interview and she comes across very well. She talks about how she identifies with Fanny Brice because she's never seen herself as someone who can go for "romantic lead" roles.

We ran ATG today regarding Sheridan and they said they don't know when she'll be back but we can exchange tickets if we want. If nothing is announced before Thursday then we will exchange I think.

Maybe it's time to accept Sheridan's almost certainly not returning and go along and enjoy Natasha's acclaimed, fantastic performance. You might find you really enjoy it!

We are probably going to exchange first if we don't hear anhthung back, but we wouldn't exchange again after that. E.g. We might exchange to say August but if she still isn't back by then, we will still go
