Katie Hopkins' number one priority is only ever Katie Hopkins. Rather than letting the story die, she's given it more attention so she can have a dig at Graham Norton. I may have been impressed if she'd come up with this article on Monday.

Well in fairness we aren't letting it die either

That's a bit different to a national newspaper though.

It's odd really. On the one hand it's ok for us to discuss and speculate on Smith, but not OK for the papers but equally we have people on here berating us for discussing Smiths situation. As I have said I feel sorry for anyone who is ill but I think Smith does somehow court publicity and her coterie of fans get quite prickly if anyone dare make a negative comment or even any comment that isn't gushing about her. I find Carrie Hope-Fletcher is in the same mould

I have to say that this whole Sheridan drama is way too entertaining. She's being a fool with her social media behavior. Having said that..She has the right to not attend if she is not able to perform. Plus, come on people. Her father is dying. I never liked her to begin with (so overrated in Legally Blonde) and thought she was horribly miscast and quite horrible in Funny Girl, but I completely empathize and can see why she's having a difficult time going to work. What i do NOT understand is the damage control that is being mismanaged by her team and the producers. They really need to have a "we understand things are sh*t and want to give you space, but we need to talk about what you decide to do if you don't come to work." you've obviously not realised we are talking about unicorns now

(and is now retweeting all of her reviews for Chitty which I find a little obnoxious but whatever)...
But sorry- Off Topic

Katie Hopkins is definitely right with her latest article on Daily Mail about how Graham Norton was out of order for saying that at the BAFTAs, that probably really put her down She has a bit of a cheek, the things she says are much more insulting and not even vague either. Some of her comments incite hate towards other races, other's directly insult people's physical appearance, state of mind and weight. I'm guessing she is a fanboy.

I've just started a new job which means I have a lot less scope for online time wasting, and despite not seeing Funny Girl this is the thread I'm mainly watching - thanks for the entertainment!

That happened to me! I made a comment about queuing people at stage door being disappointed when she didn't come out! I never mentioned her only "and a certain Eponine didn't come out...." and she found the tweet, then sent me a message over five tweets explaining why she didn't that night!

According to the Standard tonight the theatre have said she will be continuing with the role. So assuming she is just taking time off to rest and will be back, I'd guess next week, if not before

I find her average, but know I'm in a minority. There's more to being great than singing a few songs and shaving your head for a role.

Has anybody been to see the show with Natasha on this week? How is she doing?

Has anybody been to see the show with Natasha on this week? How is she doing? Apparently she's storming it, a standing O every performance too, can't ask for more then that from an audience.

Full page piece on her performances in the mail today. Footnote to the piece says the producers have told Sheridan to take all the time she needs

I must admit when seeing the show in early July, I'm hoping to see Natasha rather than Sheridan. I wish Sheridan well but I would rather see a performance where it's all about the show rather than the media circus and extremes of adulation and criticism surrounding the leading lady.

I wish Sheridan well but I would rather see a performance where it's all about the show rather than the media circus and extremes of adulation and criticism surrounding the leading lady. I have to say I agree with you a bit there. We saw the show at the Menier at the end of the run when she took the time off due to her dad's illness & we were almost relieved she was off the night we were going because of the potential that the reaction from the audience would be more about her personal situation being played out in the media rather than her actual performance. We thought Natasha was amazing & it was a shame so many people opted not to see the show that night. I'm assuming more people would have stayed if there wasn't the option for them to have their tickets transferred? When we were leaving the people behind us actually commented that they were really glad they stayed because of how good Natasha was.

Will Sheridan be back by June? If she isn't on, do you get a refund for a new ticket then?

If Sheridan is truly suffering from mental health issues (something that I also have experience with personally) then the producers should tell her to leave the show. Has there been any definitive proof that she is though? Insecurity and sensitivity is not mental illness. But the flipside, and one that has been ignored in previous posts on this thread by other people, is also that mental illness is not insecurity and sensitivity. I don't know which it is, and I don't suppose we'll ever get any definitive proof because it is absolutely none of any of our businesses, but as an adult and a professional, I personally believe that Sheridan would be at work if she could be at work.

I'm bored of Sheridan Smith now.
So, back to the show.
What about those chorus boys huh? Buttocks like peaches in a bag.

True, but that US 'rule' doesn't make one bit of difference over here, as the Sunset Boulevard episode proved! Granted FG is a longer run, but if ticket sales are to be believed, then they'll also struggle fitting everyone back in. In contrast to SB, however, had a friend who went to see Natasha last night who said that the entire audience cheered when Natasha was announced to be covering as Fanny Brice, which is nice!
