Wow I couldn't feel more differently. Fanny's character yes is supposed to be lacking polish, but the performance, humour and very importantly the voice she has is what stops the audience and makes them go Wow - she's a star. In Greatest star she says "they're gonna hear a voice" - proceeding to then show that voice. Polish and performance is something that can and does grow through the show as the character gains confidence but the voice is something she has from the beginning. I mean I don't think those songs weren't written to be sung by someone with an okish voice. For this reason I personally prefer Natasha. I have seen Sheridan and I'll agree she is a phenomenal actress but for me, Natasha has both the acting and singing talent for this role. I completely agree with you on this, I think it's not a case of Natasha has a better voice but can't act. She has an amazing voice & she gives a completely believable performance throughout the show too. This is not to say that I think Sheridan isn't good too, but personally I prefer the full package that Natasha brings.

To throw in my two cents - I think Natasha's voice is definitely stronger than Sheridan's and whilst I understand that's not everything having seen both Natasha's and Sheridan's performance my opinion is that Natasha's acting abilities were also far better than Sheridan's.
Additionally I know it's not a "competition" but at least we are discussing the show for once! 😏

Now that is very true!
I've seen Sheridan at the Menier and at the Savoy, also seen Natasha. Enjoyed both performances very much as well as all the rest of the cast. Will definately be fitting in a couple more visits before it closes.

Sheridan is better. Fanny's character is meant to be a bit crap and lacking polish but making up with it with her charisma - which describes Sheridan's singing to a tee Not at all, you are describing Sally Bowles, not Fanny Brice.

Can anybody help me. Is there anywhere I can get tickets for Funny Girl for either a Friday or Saturday show? The actual ATG website shows most Fri/Sat shows are mainly sold out or £125 seats only available. Usually pay £71 but if there's websites with good seats for £50, then that'll be great and ideal! Stalls or Dress Circle usually? We usually book via the offical shows website so not sure what theatre ticket websites are the best and which ones just add huge booking fees etc. Annoying I can't just go on a Wed where there's seats available.
Thanks in advance!

Thanks in advance! Sites other than the official ones tend to slap the large fees on. For a show like this, those are premium days and will be selling very well, so if they are the only days you can do you'll either have to sacrifice view and sit far back, stump up the full price or arrive early and dayseat. Not that helpful, but if there is a site out there selling reduced tickets on a weekend I'll eat my metaphorical hat

Thanks in advance! LoveTheatre has top price £71 tickets reduced to £49.50 with no extra fees for all performances including Friday and Saturday - www.lovetheatre.com/tickets/4562/Funny-GirlLoveTheatre is a reliable site - they do add high fees to full price tickets, but are worth using when they have an offer like this with no extra fees. You can't choose your seats but they tell you the seat number before you book.

Maybe I will check this out.....

Thanks shady23. Cheaper than Amazon, too. So, cancelled my amazon pre-order (had to do it by phone, as it was part of a bigger order and the machine wouldn't let me) and done it with universal instead. Ain't this board brilliantly helpful . Snap (except the phoning bit) - thanks from me too shady23

Shady - thanks from me and my pal who will be getting a copy as a treat! Great post, thank you so much.
(Edited to add, of course, if it's signed by the bloke who puts them in the envelopes, I'll be a tad less delighted) ..

Amazon has just dispatched my copy of the Funny Girl recording. I'm in Leeds and Bradford for the weekend, so I won't be able to listen to it until Sunday.

Hoping the cast recording finds it way to Spotify as soon as it gets to midnight haha... Hoping for too much?

I was hoping that Amazon's AutoRip service would kick in from the moment the CD was dispatched. No such joy though. 😅

But you should be able to download it from midnight. When the last Blink-182 album was released, I stayed up on purpose and waited until it was available constantly pushing F5

They'll probably draft Natasha in to understudy on the signing

And this the point where you find out that it's fire-damaged stock and you've actually ordered a singed copy.

Got the same email. Not worried, proves it's genuine, I guess, as finding time to sign stuff is difficult. Takes longer than you think. Yep! I'm in no rush.
