She's just too fabulous for words. The world will be a sadder place when she decides to retire for good. I'm willing to bet that she's the most terrifying person to meet but when you're friends with her, she's probably one of the best friends you'll ever have. I loved the description of her being like a tiptoeing elephant when she's trying to be careful what she says. Fabulous. Someone once described Patti as performing like she's got a cab waiting outside with the meter running which I think is absolutely perfect. J'adore La LuPone. Patti: "brash truth telling star" or "diva a bit too full of herself?" Some will debate this for eternity. It is a fine line between the two at times. |

I'm sure our most favourite Monkey will give you more qualified advice than I ever could, but I thought I'd share a couple of thoughts. While I've never sat in those boxes, I suspect you're going to have to spend quite some time leaning forward and it's probably not by accident that they're on sale for so little compared with the majority of the seats in the house. Particularly given how the show is staged here, I suspect there are going to be quite a few moments when you may not really get to see all of the action. I'm kind of guessing what your view would be from there, so take my words with a pinch of salt, but I guess at some points you may even have elements on stage blocking your view of the actors entirely. |

If I had to describe the show in one word it would be SLICK!
Absolutely loved the staging of it so clever but also so simple.
The whole cast were terrific with Patti and Rosalie absolute stars.
As others have mentioned Jonathan Baily's performance of Getting Married Today was a total showstopper. I have seen and heard the great and the good perform this number which has got to be one of Sondheim's most difficult songs to sing and no one has had such perfect diction as Jonathan had. You could hear every single word which is no mean feat.
I have seen Company twice before, first time at the Donmar and then 10 years later at its anniversary concert with the original cast so was unsure of how the role reversal would work and it does work just fine. Some of the songs I though were even better with the roles reversed especially You could drive a person crazy which works so well with 3 men singing it.
Tick Tock, brilliant choreography.
And what can I say about Barcelona and Mr Fleeshman. Can anyone who has seen it and sat near the front tell me where he hides his battery pack?
Great audience especially for a matinee and the applause and ovation at the end was more like a Friday or Saturday night audience.
I will need at least another couple of visits to it as we don't get Sondheim that often here and certainly not a show as slick and sophisticated as this. My guess is that its Broadway bound.
Got a Rush ticket from Today Tix and sat in the stalls Row R - great seat with loads of leg room and clear view of the stage. Only thing I couldn't see was the orchestra high up due to the overhang from the dress circle but that didn't spoil it at all.

I want to write a little letter to Patti just to tell her what a massive fan I am of her and what an honour it is to get to see her here on the London stage etc. but I’m wondering is this an okay thing to do? I’m not one to make sock puppets or bake muffins and buy microwaves for actors like many fans we know of but I’m just wondering is even a letter written to a celebrity a bit personal and/or weird?

Tick Tock, brilliant choreography. I think that at the preview I went to they cut tick tick so was just wid during what happens in it and how it was choreographed? I am curious to maybe know what else has changed as have heard that side bu side might have changed too. |

Someone else asked that. The usual price is £47.50, so go for it. Even if you do miss the sides, you are close to the stage for the cash  . You'll miss the side....by side.... by side. |

Saw it tonight and lived up to and exceeded expectation. Another Hundred People feels strangely labored but the rest of it is just sensational -- Patti is in stupendous voice, and Jonny Bailey has a supporting Olivier sewn up though they should have a special award for Richard Fleeshman's trainer -- he is brilliant, as well. And Rosalie, well, she was crying at the end tonight as were many in the audience.

I was there tonight too and totally agree, it was just perfection. Highlights for me off the top of my head were You Could Drive A Person Crazy and Not Getting Married. Oh and Rosalie was perfect as Bobbie, I can't imagine the role any other way, it felt so apt, especially in 2018.
I've loads more thoughts but it's late. But basically, if you've not already seen this/got tickets then you need to book now.

Can only echo what everyone else has said here.
Like quite a few here, my only exposure to it was the concert version with Neil Patrick Harris, which I couldn't get into so have only seen the first half, therefore I wasn't really expecting much from this.
From yesterday's matinee I felt the first 20minutes a little cold and slow to grow, but once the caffeine kicked in for the cast it tightened up and got momentum.
I loved the direction and some of the detail in this; detail like not only the conductor wearing the party hat for Side by Side by Side, but the subtext in Bobbi putting the hat on for the line 'Here is the steeple'.
The staging for Not getting Married and Tick-Tock was outstanding and as simple as it was the synchronised choreography of the ensemble in the metro carts - everyone knowing to move stage left on the downbeat etc - so both carts moved in unison looked so fluid.
So much to love and I think theres much more to appreciate at a deeper lever on a repeat viewing.
I'd have loved it if during the first balcony scene where Susan shouts up 'We can hear what your saying' (or whatever the line was, I cant remember) there was some interaction with the Conductor, insinuating the noise from upstairs is the orchestra. On the subject of which I have to say was great to have them up on show!
The Nightclub scene felt very 'nash' - and the 'remix' was a bit terrible, could have paid a better producer to do that, but it felt relevant and helped cement the period of the piece.
Reallllly, realllllly, hope they do a cast recording to preserve this in some form, even if its a live recording like Dreamgirls/Young Frankenstein/etc. They multitrack every performance so the stems are there, they just need to pay an engineer to mix and master it. I can already see the artwork it in my minds eye on the Soundtrack shelves of the iTunes store and HMV. Now who do we hound for that?
