Question. I purchased tickets a month ago, to see Company on the 20th November. I just checked and it looks like row V was downgraded from "blue seats" (£49.5 at the time of purchase) to to "green seats" (£29.75 at this moment). I bought the tickets through Delfont Macintosh Theatres website. Does anyone have any experience with upgrading the tickets? Should I try to call them or do it on the day of the show? Or do they have some silly "no exchanges" policy?

You can try calling them and asking the question; they do have an exchange policy so may be willing to help out in this case, but I can't say that for definite. They might however just say "dynamic pricing, can't help in this case, sorry".

Long story short, they upgraded me from row V to row S for approx. £7. I'm glad I checked that the price changed.

Slightly off topic - but I just had this pop up on my YouTube feed - and it is amazing in French!

First world problems but just done day seats for this and ended up with end of row front stalls. Can’t really complain but not an idea location for me with the stage height + stiff neck and cramping muscles. Anyone had any luck officially switching seats prior to performance?

Don't switch seats! Your view will be good and you'll have the actors passing by your side to get to the stage

Take 2 from the stalls is a good option.

Not sure whether this should be in this thread, Bad Behaviour or Overheard .... actually, not the Overheard thread, as the conversation was with me.
During the interval of today's matinee, the lady next to me struck up a conversation. Was I enjoying the show? Usual stuff. Then ... "Bobby is usually a man, right?" "Yes." "So is she a transvestite now? ... (pointing to the programme cover) ..." only in the picture she looks a bit masculine ..."
Lost for words doesn't even begin to cover it!

Well that would certainly make for an interesting take on the show in the future. Gender merge instead of gender swap, everyone’s TV.

Oh dear but I see where she is going RC does not look the most feminine in the pics . The stage show consists of her drinking whisky ... we were promised Bridget Jones and Sex in the City and I did not get the ‘girlie approach’ from this production. Although I did not get a man in dress either

Although I did not get a man in dress either What does her drinking whisky have to do with gender or her being "girlie"? She's a 35 year old woman, questioning her life in terms of her relationship/un-married status whilst looking at the relationships of her friends, which, in my view at least, is very comparable to Bridget Jones/SITC. What was it about the production or character that made you "not get the girlie approach"? And what do you class as "girlie"? What makes a show have a "girlie approach"?

Stepping into full on gender sterotypes here. Whisky is quite a masculaine drink. If Company was going for the promised Sex in the City and Bridget Jones feel I would of expected White Wine and Prosecco

Stepping into full on gender sterotypes here. Whisky is quite a masculaine drink. If Company was going for the promised Sex in the City and Bridget Jones feel I would of expected White Wine and Prosecco I think the ‘promised’ SATC/Bridget Jones feel was more in relation to the approach to modern females and their approach to relationships and friendships, rather than it being ‘girlie.’ SATC was considered pretty groundbreaking being one of the first mainstream TV shows that women openly addressed issues around sex and relationships. I understand where you are coming from though, as I think quite a lot of people probably thought the same! I’m a 25 year old woman who enjoys a bourbon on a night out and I certainly wouldn’t say it makes me any less feminine than the girls drinking Prosecco. The whole premise of this new production is about challenging the way women are viewed in society, and I think it’s perhaps a conscious decision to have Bobbie NOT drinking a ‘feminine’ choice for this very reason.

Yes, the whole point is to gender-flip the characters but not change their behaviour - so Bobby should still drink whisky. if you view a female Bobby drinking whisky differently than a male Bobby, then that's on you.

You are absolutely right on your choice of drink as it really does make no difference to your gender.
Bobby drank bourbon and so does Bobbie. Sondheim is very hesitant about changing the book. Although in my book bourbon / wine / a Manhattan is a very easy change to make ...

Oh yeah, feminine girls shouldn't drink whisky and masculine boys shouldn't wear pink, etc...

Second sitting yesterday afternoon. Sitting almost on the subs, made me very happy - so thanks all that urged me not to attempt to switch my seats, also got chatting to some very nice Canadian gents sat next to me. Afterwards I almost wandered back round to the box office to book for the evening, but stuck with my original plan of going over to Bush Theatre to catch something completely different, which turned out to be a regrettable decision. The 'Company' remix actually sounds great down front where theres sub in copious amounts compared to up in the Dress Circle, so I take back my previous "terrible" comment, but the show is better visually from further back.
Question: The scene change interludes and scoring all seemed to be adaptions of "Tick-tock" - are these new, written specifically for this production or part of the original score? I love them. They subtly hint at the passing of time for Bobby which I think heightens the ongoing pressure of the emotion she (in this instance) is faced with.
