How do I not know that Stephen Schwartz and Lin-Manuel have written a musical?!

It's less that they've written a musical together, and more that a group of composers (including Schwartz, James Taylor, Mary Rodgers and Lin-Manuel, whose 2 songs were added to the 2009 revised version), have all contributed songs in the show (kinda like the new Spongebob musical), woven together with a book by Schwartz and someone else whose name escapes me.
The only song I know from it is The Mason by Craig Carnelia, and it's gorgeous.

I first read that as Woking, thought that was an odd topic for Schwartz!

Southwark Playhouse were in talks to do 'Elegies For Angels, Punks and Raging Queens' Written by the same guy who wrote Side Show. Maybe they'll do it in March. Its a small show and wont sustain their usual runs there.

I feel kinda luke-warm about this. I mean, I work all day, so do I really want to hear more about work in the evening? Will wait for the casting...

Beautiful song in this called Millwork by James Taylor, the Carnelia songs too. Haven't heard the new ones.
EDIT: just found this from the TV version that was produced in the eighties. Always reminds me of my Great Grandmother who worked in the cotton mills (as did most of my family of a similar age), she got so little sunlight and nutrition that she developed rickets, her legs bowed and deformed in a way that was quite common to see even in the seventies. Millworker is the name used on a number of cover versions but it's Millwork in the musical.

meh..SOME of the songs are good. otherwise, there's really little plot or anything going on for it. It's more like a song cycle than an actual musical.

Isn't 'It's An Art' from Working? That's a great song!

Revival of the Schwartz/Taylor show, with new additional material from none other than Lin Manuel Miranda.
Expect a LMM super-fan onslaught when booking opens!
Luke Sheppard rumoured to be directing, but not choreographing.

I did this show at drama school. It's an odd piece and there is no storyline. But there are some amazing songs and catchy numbers. I can't wait to see it.

Anyone heard any casting? One of the producers tweeted recently that they'd been having auditions.

I didn't have much interest in this, but Krysten Cummings in the cast will get me there. She was the original Mimi in the London cast of Rent. Such a distinctive voice. She was also great in The Fix.
