Even me got a promo code, and I've only been once at the Old Vic for The Lorax. Just booked a front row seat for a Saturday Evening show in August.

Booked one of the £16 'slim pillar in view' seats at the back of the stalls. Will I see anything?

I got the code, and I've treated myself to a good stalls seat for the last matinee. Will also try for a cheap preview seat so I can book-end the run. Could come unstuck if it turns out it's terrible!

Ta. isn't the point of this forum to create a space for theatre geeks to convene and if we can reward each other by sharing something like a priority booking code, why not? lest we buy into the elitist class system of the Old Vic, wealthiest first.

The producers decided to follow this tiered approach to open the booking process gradually for different groups and personally, I think that should be respected. If they wanted everyone to use this promo code, they'd have opened public booking earlier.

I didn't receive one either, despite signing up this week... I didn't specifically sign up for any newsletter, but when I booked my ticket for The Lorax last year, I must have overseen to untick the "subscribe to newsletter" box, so that's why I must've ended on this list. I didn't even expect to get access to this prebooking and would've been perfectly fine with waiting until general booking opens. But if I'm invited to use this, I might as well do so, as I had my London trip in August sorted out anyway. And just for the record: There's still plenty of availability for the first and the last two shows (haven't checked any other), so you'll still be fine when general booking opens.

I guess if I was meant to go then I'll get a ticket on the 12th. If not then it wasn't meant to be this time! ?

Maybe I'm too lefty but I think if you have taken the gumption to be registered on this forum, or even find this forum then you're enough of a theatre fan to warrant the early booking code regardless of what they producers intentions were.

I sympathise with those who haven't received a code- I didn't either, but managed to book seats by calling, signing up and booking. If I had a code to share I would oblige, albeit by PM. Clearly it's not booking nearly as well as they thought it might on Priority Booking so why not open it up to those of us who want to attend? It wil be interesting to see how popular this is...

Seems rather unfair that some can do it, some can't. Some receive an email, some don't. What's going on there? Sometimes with these mass mailings they stagger the emails going out so as to not overload servers - my email didn't actually turn up until 12:47pm and booking opened at 12. Some email providers can also throw wobblies about mass emails and delay them, some don't end up delivering them at all or do so sporadically. Sometimes your email account has learnt that you always delete the emails from that address and assumes it's spam. Bottom line is that email can be really temperamental!

It wil be interesting to see how popular this is... That sounds a bit mean-spirited. It will be interesting to see how good a show it is, or who it most appeals to. I get a bit dispirited with everyone on this forum wishing box office doom upon every show so that they can purchase a rear upper circle seat with a bumper discount code and be upgraded to a premium seat.

Not guilty on any count. I don't like unfairness, that's all. I hope the show is good, and wish it every success. I have my two (front stalls) tickets and am looking forward to it.

How quickly do we expect this to sell out (If it's going to)? I really want to buy a ticket but as usual I have about a million things to pay for first! I think it sounds like it's going to be fab and I don't want to miss out because I was too late for tickets!

But equally, if someone has had the gumption to sign up to a mailing list for the show, they could be forgiven for being annoyed if the privelege they signed up for then gets thrown out to all and sundry on a public forum.

Long time lurker here, occasional poster on the old forum. Just seen this thread and agree with many that it's unfair to have removed the pre-sale code from here. I'm on the Old Vic's mailing list and didn't receive the code. It's the theatre's prerogative to have members only booking, but if you're then going to send out a promo code indiscriminately to only certain members of your mailing list, why shouldn't theatre fans share it on a niche message board? I too would be hugely grateful of someone could message me the code.

Take it up with the theatre, then. If they should have sent you a code and didn't then that's a dispute you need to sort out with them. If they've screwed up they may even offer you something by way of apology.
