Having said I was seeing Duet for One tonight I had an email from the Rep telling me the show has been cancelled tonight (I suspect also on Thursday) even though it says sold out on the website. Having looked at the seating for other performances I don't think it's sold very well. I am now going tomorrow night instead.

Seeing the Spanish version of The Bodyguard (El Guardaespaldas) next Thursday in Madrid. I also bought tickets for the Spanish versions of Billy Elliot and Next to Normal (Casi Normales), both in Madrid as well. I'm glad they are bringing new musical adaptations to my country for a change, instead of reviving Mamma Mia or The Sound of Music again. I was in Madrid in May, and noticed Billy Elliot was due to open . I'd be interested to know if it's a success there? Do the audience "get" the background story of the miners strike ? I was surprised to see see it playing in Budapest as well, I always thought Billy Elliot would be too British in its setting for European audiences . It opens this Thursday after a couple of weeks of previews. So far I think it's selling well. The film was a big success here. I think Spain is ready for Billy.

....miss out on all 4 of my usual slots. Going away for a long-planned family event, which should be enjoyable, but gutted that despite there being several theatres in the area, there is nothing on during my visit for me to see. Worst of all is that the Ayckbourn double-bill tour, as mentioned by HG, reaches the theatre nearest to our hotel, but the day after we leave - aargh! I did look into staying on but I'd have had to book another 2 nights at the hotel and I'm car-and-room-sharing with my sister, so not practical.

To Stasia - I too am at Hair on Friday evening this week - hope to meet you!
Re - Wolverhampton - it is near Birmingham (central England - known as the Midlands!) You will need to get a train to Birmingham from Euston and then a very short train journey to Wolverhampton.

Trams also run between Brum and Wolverhampton.

Tomorrow, while everyone else is in Wolverhampton, I shall be seeing the ETT production of The Weir at Cast in Doncaster.
Since booking, I've learnt it's not very long, which is a little disappointing. The play is quite short, too!!!

SO looking forward to getting back to the theatre after a week's enforced absence; also hoping it has at least broken my turkey run.
Definitely seeing Prism (Hampstead) & The Revlon Girl (Park Theatre) & considering adding the touring revival of Richard Bean's Harvest as it reaches Guildford. I did see the original Royal Court production but haven't noticed any sInce and it has been some years now, whic is strange as given the writer's success, you'd expect more regional productions and revivals in that time.
