Come on you theatre aficionados this one is right up your street; what were those West Hits that was successful here, but tanked on Broadway?

I love it when our members geek out on this sort of thing. Reciprocal thread needed maybe?

It was a terrible production and miscast and misdirected. Potts played too much to the audience and was obnoxious in my opinion. You can see it on YouTube.

Did they? Both had good runs of a couple of years

Aspects ran for 3 years so not a flop (though obvious dissapointment considering the dames other runners)

Legally Blonde was more successful in London than on Broadway.

How does one know what's a hit in the West End? The definition of hit on Broadway is a show that returns its investment. But as we get no box office reports here we can never really know how well (or badly) a show has done.

The thread is about big fat, west end hits, and neither Aspects nor Woman in White could be considered that.

Although in the arts we rarely deal in 'proof' it's endlessly frustrating to have hard evidence from Broadway in terms of facts and figures, but nothing from this side of the pond.
Anyway, as you were...

But people have a good feel what done well and tanked. looking forward to doing a reciprocal thread, this is just one to get those theatre geeks like me, warmed up.

Taboo - though it only played an intimate venue here in London. The "O'Donnell" make over it did it no favours.
