My Dearest Readers, It has come to my attention that this production ain’t happening…. It was selling horrendously poorly, it seems. A few days where simply no one booked, as topaz said. And I think the fact no one really picked up on this in the past week or so shows the complete lack of interest in this production... which is sad I suppose. Back to hoping the Lippa version can grace a West End stage in my lifetime, rights be damned.

Are they meant to be performing at West End Live this weekend? Nope.

I just found the whole thing too baffling, what with DICE and hardly any actual seats etc. I absolutely loved this show at The Other Palace and saw it several times.

I was very excited about this - but hadn't booked as everything I read on here about booking sounded horrendous, so was waiting till nearer the time and thinking I could probably just buy in person on the day. If they can't sort the booing system then people aren't going to book!

Same. I went to book because I liked the show at The Other Palace and Laura Baldwin is always great, and the DICE thing was a flat no, I'll wait till they get a proper booking system: get your act straight, theatregoers are not going to sign up to DICE to buy one ticket.
Theatregoers and gig-goers may have some overlap but by and large are not the same people.
Please noone try this DICE crap as the ONLY way to buy theatre tickets ever again!

Are they meant to be performing at West End Live this weekend? Well they WERE... Ah, it seems they've been taken off the WEL website then

Ah, it seems they've been taken off the WEL website then Oh yes, I just had a look. I'd particularly noticed they were going to be on just before (or it might have been just after) Marie Curie (which I like, and am going to see again tonight) and they've disappeared!

Yes, I suppose I was too hasty in saying there was no interest; but there definitely seemed to be a lack of wider public interest and advertising.

Also to people asking about why there is no Lippa Wild Party in the UK. The issue is the underlying source material is not public domain in the U.K. and the copyright was purchased by Scott Rudin, who was a producer on the LaChiusa Wild Party and he refuses to give a license of the material to allow a production. The poem is public domain in the US.

We gotta stop pretending people can produce debut shows to this scale

Surely a massive cock-up on the ticketing front can't be the killer for this?

Still up on the EartH website and bookable on Dice (!) - you'd think this could have been sorted before the press release went out!

"due to unforeseen circumstances beyond our control."
Oh goodness, I hope nothing bad has happened to cast or crew. This really sucks...

"due to unforeseen circumstances beyond our control." Oh goodness, I hope nothing bad has happened to cast or crew. This really sucks... I feel very bad for the cast and crew too, but wonder if the unforeseen circumstances were just that everyone was put off buying tickets by the user-unfriendly system and the unpleasant looking seating. I would have really loved to see this in a different theatre with a normal booking system!

I love the way this reads. Uhh, that THING got cancelled. Let's not mention that thing and do this thing which is totally unrelated!
