Didn't mean to start a "my Elphaba is better than your Elphaba" argument, of course my opinions are subjective, for ME the best acted Elphies are Ashleigh, Amy and Nikki. If we all liked the same Elphabas, it'd be boring. Having said that, Rachel tucker is certified cr*p (JUST KIDDING)

Benjamin Yates makes his Fiyero debut tonight and Grace Chapman makes her Nessa debut. It’s the interval now, really enjoying both performances. Grace sounds like she has a lot of power in her voice so really looking forward to her WWOTE, love me a powerful Nessa. I have to say Ben fills the Jodphurs beautifully, and he has a lovely tone to his voice. Also, greatly enjoying Amy, she did the “things I’ve never felt” riff so we were already off to a great start.

Surely all this chat belongs in the main Wicked thread? Alice Fearn has absolutely nothing to do with the tour. We’ve had this debate countless times anyway... Neither does Rachel but you sure don't mention her 🙄

Neither does Rachel but you sure don't mention her 🙄 You were the one who started all this by replying "ALICE FEARN" when Martello was talking about best-acted Elphabas, all of whom mentioned happened to be tour Elphabas actually, so that's why Alice is being mentioned if you're going to get that petty.

I feel sorry for Glinda in all this and imagine her stood in a dark corner in a strop. Pouting. Muttering angrily to herself "why don't they fight that way over me?"

I love this so much. Especially as the comments are full of people saying "it's so great they can make fun of their roles" not realising this was the year before they were both cast

Especially as the comments are full of people saying "it's so great they can make fun of their roles" not realising this was the year before they were both cast haha I know right!! I wonder if they'd already auditioned/been offered the roles when they did this, or if the Wicked casting team went to watch and just thought "sweet oz, we need to cast these 2"

This board has been plodding on lovely for the last few weeks without a single mention by the TAF account... can we keep it that way?
Although I did see a tweet and they’re visiting the tour on Thursday (presumably to criticise Amy, after all she’s bound to be rubbish and not a patch on AF), so we’ve all got that to look forward to next week. What a treat.

I was at the matinee yesterday. Nikki Bentley was on as Elphaba, Benjamin Yates was on as Fiyero, and Grace Chapman was on as Nessarose. They were all fabulous in their roles. I am no expert in riffs, but Nikki's NGD was something special. Benjamin and Grace were both really confident in their roles and have strong voices. Benjamin is my actually my new favourite Fiyero. I am not seeing the tour again until December, but would be more than happy to see this cast.

Clip of Amy's performance on Ireland's Got Talent Brilliant stuff, thanks for posting! Not the best I've heard vocally but you can see the shift between teenage, vulnerable Elphie to determined, powerful Elphie Also love the cut to the judges during Glinda's missing line, haha.

I so glad the growl is still there... hearing Amy live is something else!

I so glad the growl is still there... hearing Amy live is something else! Agree with this. I think Amy’s definitely an Elphaba who sounds so much better live with all the acting nuances and the voice. I personally just felt so much more power in her voice from seeing her live.

I haven't seen Amy yet (I will be this weekend) but I must agree that television performances aren't a very accurate indicator of an Elphabas performance. Nikki Davis-Jones performed on The Late Late Show and Blue Peter, but nothing like that compared to her live vocals, she was a powerhouse!

After seeing that video of Amy I might try and get a ticket for the tour. I do enjoy a good growl .

I really enjoyed that television performance and everything she was doing. Her facial expressions were incredible, even when sat in the front row you're never THAT close to Elphaba. However I just didn't connect and I just don't think she's my type of Elphaba and that's okay because I can still see she's bloody brilliant.

Is it just me who refuses to watch things like this or listen to audios of a performer before I have seen them for myself?

Is it just me who refuses to watch things like this or listen to audios of a performer before I have seen them for myself? thing is Shady, if you don't watch the YouTube clips, how can you possibly form an accurate opinion and correct all of our Elphaba preferences without even seeing the performance?!

Does anyone know if the none ATG stops on this tour (specifically Leeds) will be offering Student tickets/or single seats because me and friends are road tripping there in June and they've all said in the past they want me to take them to Wicked (even the friend I've dragged to London twice to see it wants to go - but thats for Aaron Sidwell)
