So, thoughts on tonight's show... First up, the good: Helen Woolf - AH-MAAAAZING. Blew me away. The Best Glinda performance I have seen in YEARS. Such a refreshing performance. Beautiful vocals, acting masterclass with comedy timed to perfection. My biggest criticism of recent Glindi has been comedy not landing, but Helen absolutely nailed it. She absolutely shone on that stage tonight, was clearly having a ball, and it was a pleasure to witness her performance. I know Helen u/s the role in London but I really hope she gets a shot at leading after the tour is done. Such a great interpretation of the role and as you said, comedy is so on point! I disagree with most of your other review, but let’s not get into a “my Elphie is better than your Elphie” hahaha!

I am seeing the tour again in Birmingham in a few weeks so hopefully I'll warm to Amy, as I said there were aspects of her performance that I really liked, just sadly lacking as an overall package for me.

I broke my Wicked duck today at the matinee. I've never really enjoyed the score but assumed I was missing the performance side of it. Sadly I still don't enjoy the show other than a couple of the big numbers. In terms of the cast I think I saw the same as daniel and pretty much echo his thoughts although I did enjoy Amy Ross as Elphaba. Wasn't so keen on Helen as Glinda but that might be a bit of me not seeing past the character. Glad I managed to get a £20 upper circle seat yesterday. Full of families which made for a lot of toilet visits and a lot of background noise in the 2nd half.

The cast are appearing on Ireland's Got Talent live shows tonight for anyone interested. (Not sure who is performing but I am gonna guess its a performance of Defying Gravity)

(Not sure who is performing but I am gonna guess its a performance of Defying Gravity) Nikki’s got a double show day in Liverpool (and it was announced in advance) and Amy Ross put an Instagram story up earlier today showing them ‘checking in’ a broom before getting on a flight. So I’m taking an educated guess that Amy’ll be appearing singing Defying Gravity

Just saw Amy Ross performing on TV3, and I must say I am very impressed with her portrayal. From only a snippet, she showed so much variety in her performance. Her facial expressions were fantastic. I am very excited to see her in Liverpool next week!

Saw this evening in Liverpool - really impressed with Nikki Bentley. Great all round performance, but some of the vocals, especially in Defying Gravity, were incredible. Loved Helen Woolfe and Aaron Sidwell too - Sidwell got a big response at curtain call.

Saw this evening in Liverpool. So was I! Sat front stalls in BB16. So impressed with this cast, I didn't know what to think because with the exception of Glinda, I adore the current London cast. However, every single person on that stage impressed me to no end. Helen Woolf as Glinda was the most well developed and thought out Glinda I've seen. Also she has that comedic timing and delievery down! (Which makes sense she's being playing it longest including her understudy days). Aaron Sidwell was delightful, very much played up the prince and not the winky, which isn't what I really like but he did his version of Fiyero amazing. Also I didn't expect him to be able to sing THAT well? Nikki Bentley, it's too early to say but she may just become my favourite greenie. She's clearly drawn inspiration from Alice who is my favourite, but she takes Alice's Elphaba tones down the shouting but turns up the anger and emotion. Her voice was beautiful and while Defying Gravity vity was riffed, it really worked. I can't believe I'm not seeing this cast again until Edinburgh.

Her, Nikki Davis-Jones and Ashleigh Gray complete the holy trinity of "best acted Elphies". Jodie Steele is an honorary member.

Off to Birmingham next month, hoping to be converted as I found Amy very vanilla last week.

Just seen the TV performance of Defying Gravity from last night and I have to say that I think it's the best acted performance of Defying Gravity I've seen. Definitely considering getting tickets to see the tour at some point now! For anyone interested, it appears at 59:49 in this video, I've had to use an Irish VPN to access it as it seems to be only available in Ireland www.tv3.ie/3player/show/1417/140836/0/Ireland%27s-Got-Talent

Does anyone know of anyone selling stalls tickets for Liverpool either next Monday or Tuesday of next week.
It's my friends birthday and she really wants to go and see it but can't find any decent seats.
Thanks

For what it's worth, Alice Fearn doesn't sit anywhere near my top three. Shock horror. Nikki D-J, Rachel, Willemijn.

I always love watching this discussion (I can't really partake Ive seen 3 Elphabas, two of which I've only seen once)
It's kinda fascinating how we can't all decide on best/favourite. I personally have two different rankings in my head, the quality of an Elphaba so how good their acting/singing is and how much I like them because 60% of a favourite Elphaba for me is an emotional connection. Then quality and then all the little things. So I can't really rank on seeing loads but so far the best quality Elphaba I've seen is certainly Alice Fearn, however because of the way Nikki Bentley makes me feel during and after a show she's probably going to end up favourite.

Surely all this chat belongs in the main Wicked thread? Alice Fearn has absolutely nothing to do with the tour. We’ve had this debate countless times anyway...

I still maintain that Nikki Davis-Jones is the best I have seen the role of Elphaba acted. Since Amy seems to have many similar aspects to her performance, I am incredibly excited to watch her live!
