The McGann is Joe who can sing , presumably he is replacing Jimmy Nail. Looking at a random night of the tour in Birmingham hardly any tickets sold.

Sold very well in Newcastle, as you would expect, but it's a very small venue.
I'm going to opening night and am really looking forward to it.

Oh yes, and re: Mr. Fleeshman: I am unmoved by his guns, but I'd quite like it if he managed to show us a second facial expression.
(He didn't in 'Ghost'.)

I will be seeing this in Northampton, even without Rachel Tucker which I'm still not over

I was at opening night tonight. Here's a photo of the stage
I really liked it!
Yes I am from Newcastle so it matters. Not sure it will matter so much to the rest of the country but if Billy Elliott can succeed then I can't see why this can't.
The set is absolutely sublime and some of the visuals simply stunning to watch.
Richard Fleeshman is outstanding and very Sting-like in his portrayal. Cast, especially the ensemble, very strong. Band sound brilliant.
Yes some of the accents are a bit dodgy but who outside Newcastle will really notice?
Some lovely songs and emotional moments, perhaps overly long though. Huge applause and standing ovations at the end and Sting walked onstage so my friend was happy! ☺
Really hope this does well, it deserves to.

The set looks great. I think the story will resonate in every town and city that has lost the thing it was first famous for.
After such a positive review, I'm now very much looking forward to Nottingham.

Sales at Birmingham seem just slightly above 'Bring It On' levels, for the first random date I picked.

I was wondering about a day trip to catch it in Leeds while I'm on holiday in Yorkshire, but even for a midweek matinee the prices are ludicrous, so I'll wait for it to reach London and for offers to appear.

I feel lucky prices in Newcastle are from ten pound. Bargain!

From £10.50 in Nottingham...which is why I'm seeing it in Nottingham, rather than Leeds, York or Salford.

Managed to get one of the last few remaining tickets for the Newcastle run, though for £60 I thought it was a bit pricey. Looking forward to it though, and to seeing Fleeshman & his guns again.

One of the cast lost their voice tonight so Sting went on in their place.
Brilliant!

The entire Newcastle run is now sold out.
Press night tonight with an extra special performance from Sting (standard) and exciting celebrities in the audience like Alan Shearer, Denise "don't mention the panto" Welch, Joe Mcelderry and Ricky Wilson.

I’m going next Tuesday which oddly starts at 6pm. Anyone know the reason for the early start, I hadn’t paid much attention when I booked.

The northern stage like to do these, they call them a "straight from work performance".
There's also a post show discussion on Tuesday which I assume all ticket holders can stay for?

4 stars from Billington in The Guardian. 5 stars The Stage, 4 stars Daily Telegraph 3 stars The Times 4 stars WOS
Pretty good reviews all told, I’m looking forwards to catching it on tour somewhere.

Pull quote from Billington - “it may be too good for London”
That’ll look good on tube posters.

I booked for the Lowry but every time I read something about it can’t help feeling it sounds really dreary.
Worthy and dreary.
And it’s by Sting. Who I can’t abide. I don’t know what I was thinking.

I had to bite the bullet myself and pay £60, I had cat care issues to arrange, then it sold out and this week some tickets became available. Thought this would be a great musical to see in its native territory.

The Times revue is really, really positive, but they then spoil it by giving it only 3 stars. In my book, a 3 star production is only average.

A really great show. Fantastic cast and the physical production design is really quite impressive. The projections are particularly strong and work really well for this production.
I stayed back for the post show talk tonight and it seems there is definitely a hope for this production to continue after the current tour. A question in particular asked about a return to northern stage next year and it certainly seems that’s on the cards.
