Someone needs to give Money XChange’s shapewear an award. Got to be the hardest working outfit in showbiz. Bitch’s curves are smooth. There are not enough Spanx in the world to get my hips looking like that, and I am a biological woman.

Right, now I have worked out how to spoiler tag, I can have at it. I thought it was a deserved win for Trinity and I think she is a strong contender. Her variety show was funny and she served three good looks. Am glad she changed for the lipsynch and I am glad she won. What else does she have in her closet if she busted out that dress for an episode one lipsynch? I thought Monique’s lipsynch was utterly predictable and split jumps AND dewigging should be automatic disqualifications. Was Gia Gunn so shady on her season? She’s really getting the bitch edit. I think she’s very beautiful and I quite enjoyed her act but I really struggle to warm to her. And you have to be warm to win. Farah’s burlesque was shaping up until she wiped out. I don’t feel like I have seems anyone else doing that showgirl look (am I forgetting someone? (Apart from Xtina) and that could be an interesting niche for her. Would have been nice for her to go the whole way and end up in pasties. Trinity could give her an extreme tuck... Finally, was it a mistake to open the library in episode one?

Gia was shady deluxe in her season. She had a lot to say for herself this week too 2hich is a bit rich. What exactly is Gia’s talent? “Kabuki Runway”? Sit down bee-hatch.
I still think she’s funny though.

Gia is setting herself up for something.
She clearly isn't there to compete.

Should transgender women be allowed on drag race?

Should transgender women be allowed on drag race? I'm with Trinity on this one. The concept of Drag Race was going from man to woman. I think transgender women "who have had some surgery already!" have an advantage in that aspect as they are already a woman. So someone like Gia, I don't agree with her being the cast as this defeats the concept of the game, whereas Peppermint was physically still a man at the time of her taking part.

That’s tricky though isn’t it. If “physically still a man” means you’re a man then there are an awful lot of pre-op trans people out there whose self identification you’ve just dismissed. Not that I disagree, the whole game loses something if it’s not a man “dressed as a girl”. But when it comes to Gia, all of the characteristics she had as a man in drag are still there so it still works for me. Rupaul got into a right old pickle with this and has had to back down reconsider presumably so as not to alienate himself and the show from a large segment of the community. www.them.us/story/these-queens-have-some-words-for-rupaul

It's definitely tricky. I'm all for inclusion of any kind but I can see the logic behind it. Biological women wouldn't be allowed on the show, and trans women should absolutely have those same rights, so by that logic they shouldn't be appearing on the show. It's a bit of having your cake and eating it too I guess. (but then what else is the point of cake?!)

Did a discussion of trans inclusion on drag race really manage to talk about genitalia within two posts? Crikey.

I see no reason why Gia shouldn’t be involved. Drag is an art form and it would be nowhere near what It currently is today without the efforts of trans women historically, so imo it would be pretty awful to exclude them now.
The idea of what drag is has changed over time- it’s no longer just ‘man to woman’ type thing, not about who looks fishiest; it’s about creating an illusion of something else. Give season 10 for example, when the queens were tasked to look like sea creatures; that was about giving a whole new illusion, rather than just ‘look like a gorgeous woman’.
I hope Gia gets eliminated next because i think she’s really rude, but I’m glad she was allowed the opportunity to compete in the firs place.

This is always going to be a contentious issue. A drag queen - to my mind - has always been a man adopting a female persona for the purpose of entertainment.
Part of that has always been the transformative process. Some transformations are realistic, some are more impressionistic, some are completely out there.
With Gia (on All Stars and her original series), I never really got a sense of her 'creating an illusion' and so I never really considered her to be part of the drag world. That might seem harsh - but I never got a sense of her playing a part - she was just being Gia (with no discernible difference between her on and off stage personas). Which some might consider drag - but that style of things never really appealed to me.
There is a drag queen culture and a growing drag king culture. Perhaps we need a third generic drag culture where anything goes. I do appreciate that where surgery is involved, it is tricky to say that body shaping/facial surgery (such as Detox and Trinity) is really that different to full gender reassignment/confirmation surgery.
I don't think there is a solution that will satisfy everyone in all this. There are those who believe very strongly in the drag queen culture and that it should not be altered - and there are those who want a more inclusive approach.

It would be highly inappropriate to refer to a transgender person as physically still a man/woman to their face if they personally didn’t identify that way, therefore I find that phrasing uncomfortable.
As for the argument that drag is purely men dressing as women, many of the looks seen over the seasons of RPDR have been increasingly androgynous and non gender specific.
On potentially sensitive issues such as this I find it’s better to be led by those at the heart, rather than challenging their views. Many of us here can only learn from the trans community, not tell them what is right and wrong.

Just because I have a history of people not liking me on here haha, I don't mean any disrespect by my opinion on the whole trans issue.

Wasn't overly impressed with last night's episode. A couple of stunning runway looks but both teams were pretty weak in terms of the vocals/staging.
It really was the Gia is a bitch episode. So much stirring. Very unpleasant behaviour from her.

Gia Gunn = Shady Supreme. She’s very entertaining though.
Latrice should have win that for the white jumpsuit alone. I actually Lol’d at that. Fabulous.
And what is going on with Monique’s make up? It looked like it had been thrown on in the shape of a beard. Blend blend blend, Henny!

Gia needs to go and my guess is that it will be very soon. She's just not a nice person. Farrah was right when she told her she was just looking for screentime, nothing to do with getting in her head.
When i saw Farrah in the group number, i thought it was a choice she had made to do a weird mix of the running man and robot moves. She has ZERO dance ability. It wasn't even in time to the music.
I thought the choice of song for the LSFYL was dull too.

Correct person went home again, although I wouldn't have put Manila in the bottom with her.
Gia was hilarious in her original season but she's doing my head in this season.

I’ve watched episode three and I call say is...some problematic racial and trans stereotyping going on in Snatch Game. I did enjoy the runway though. That’s something to look forward to. This week? Well, we all knew the Valentina redemption lipsynch was going to happen. I felt like Monet was robbed...And whoever said that Valentina acts like she’s in a telenovela? Bang on. Why is Manila constantly making out she’s 391 years old?

Gia is a real bitch, I can't stand her at all.
As for Episode 3, it's a good episode, shame it leaked but couldn't help myself. Quite a fair bit of drama this season around (mainly due to Gia).

I think Gia knows her time in the show is likely to be short so she’s going for maximum impact. Cant blame her for that, it will get her work which is what they’re all there for. And let’s face it, Farrah was useless. No talent whatsoever, unless you count looking glamorous as a talent.

That’s it then, she IS the Boom Boom “Gone”.
I’ll miss Gia. Lets face it the first few episodes might have been quite dull without the drama she brought. Interesting to see the open discussion about strategies in voting Queens out. I wonder if Manila was really contemplating that or if it was just to ramp up the drama?
I think Latrice is in danger. She’s coasting along and that was another poor snatch game performance and once again it was someone else’s fault. She should have performed through Gia trying to distract her... I just wonder if she can really do this.

I just wonder if she can really do this. I agree, and I though Ru’s point about how she performs when drunk people are all up in her face, was on point. I do think Snatch Game (and performance therein) is blown out of proportion by the fandom/queens. It’s usually a sh*t show, with one good performance. Sometimes I think that my memory of Latrice, or perhaps just a handful of memories, influence me too much because I have not been loving her and I recently put her in my top five queens list.
