Not sure I'd want to watch Rylan. Mini Tibs met him last year and he was totally adorable. She's ok, but the camera would be forever on Amen in the audience and I'd need the eye-bleach. (What was she thinking?) Instead of Len's Lens they could have Amen Corner and play "Bend Me Shape Me" every time it is mentioned.

Rylan is a nice guy, met him a couple of times, what you see on screen is the real Rylan.
A BBC Breakfast lady would be a good call, they usually have a couple of slightly older ladies and Ruth is one so Louise or Sally could be the other. Louise does triathlons so is naturally fit and would be popular, Sally always looks tall and elegant and so should be okay if she was asked. Sally is 46 btw although she doesn't look it.
Steph has a very bubbly personality and seems to be flavour of the month on BBC at the moment so would also be a good choice, plus having done Irish dancing would give her partner something he could work with.
Only last year they really took extra pros for the group dances, they usually have a spare girl if any of the pros get injured or cannot compete for any other reason and Ian Waite from It Takes Two often was the men's cover for such circumstances. But once pros are knocked out they can also step in if required too. I think the extra group dance pros was just to ease the workload on the main pros and to have specialists for all dances so pro routines can be even better.

Well they did have the 'dance troupe' one year but that didn't go too well. If they had seventeen couples (the number of pros) this year, I think it would be too much. I presume we're going for fifteen couples this year as the past few. I would love for Karen and Kevin to sit it out (without partners) but then we may be subjected to more dances like they did to Ellie Goulding last year, so I'm slightly torn (not much).

Also: fewer props, more dance please Strictly. Unfortunately I feel that is unlikely as I don't think the main producers have changed much, if at all.

Ah those were the days when the show was actually about the dancing! Hasn't been like that for about 10 years now sadly. It just keeps going the other way instead, and I detest the fact that each dance apparently has to have a "theme". Actual dancing can be beautiful and entertaining, but it's not often on display on Strictly anymore.

Exactly! Has she done anything besides being in a soap?

Exactly! Has she done anything besides being in a soap? I'm a Celeb, Celebrity Masterchef, Soapstar Superstar, Celebrity Family Fortunes - you may be seeing a pattern here! She's a VERY keen reality show participant - hence my disappointment that the BBC couldn't find an entire line-up who've not previously been cast on numerous reality shows.

Me neither. Terrible voice for radio. It is quite important. People often say I have the perfect face for radio. I'm never sure what they mean!

Anyway, back on topic, Gemma Atkinson is one of the breakfast presenters on Key 103, a commercial radio station in North West England.
Cue VTs of her professional getting up in the middle of the night to accompany her to the station, and her two co-hosts 'surprising' her at the dance studio, mid-rehearsal.

Do we know what training she's had (it doesn't bother me either way)??! In my head she's either going to be a Rachel Riley or a finalist.

Just thinking about what I would like on Strictly:
1. No stupid make-up on Halloween or any other time.
2. No show dances except when they are relevant and appropriate, like at the end of the series.
3. No elaborate sets or furniture.
4. No props except perhaps in show dances (see No.2)
5. Correct music with the proper rhythms so that the waltzes have three beats in each bar, tangos sound Latin and charlestons have the proper kind of syncopated beats.
6. Camera work that stays sensibly on the couples so that we can see their feet as well as the rest of them. The cameramen should be forced to watch all of Fred Astaire's dance routines on film.
I guess this is what's called pie in the sky!

We call her 'Scratchy Woman' in our house as her voice sounds like a cheese grater. Steph has a very bubbly personality and seems to be flavour of the month on BBC at the moment I am aware of this and cannot fathom out why. Love, love Ian. Exactly. She's the woman BurlyBeaR wakes up to every morning!!! And I always thought I'd be the one to turn him. People often say I have the perfect face for radio. I'm never sure what they mean! I could explain if you'd like....

For number six tonyloco, I wish there was a red button option to watch the dances from a fixed camera showing the whole dancefloor.
