^ The worrying thing is that juries in this country are frequently made up of people like some of our posters who believe anything they read on Twitter, without question, and without the need to examine any actual evidence... Testimony is evidence. Sometimes juries have to decide who they think is more credible. In this case, Rebecca Humphries' statement sounds perfectly credible to me. It wouldn't be enough to convict him of a crime on its own, of course, but witness and other statements are considered evidence in court all the time. |

Seem to be a lot more judges on Strictly than we’re used to here. And a lot of the anger here directed, unsurprisingly, towards Seann. What about Katya? It takes two to tango... Demands for him to leave... talk of transgression... tainting the show’s reputation? Really?!? Come on. Strictly’s bigger than that. (And the ex’s name is spelt Seann, Rebecca...) Oh PLEASE. Before Rebecca released her statement, I checked both Seann and Katya's Instagrams and she was getting far more abuse than him and the usual getting called a slag and similar gender-based words. Katya's husband Neil has carried on posting on social media but hasn't said a word against her and his mum, sister and niece have all posted public support for Katya suggesting that he's not as torn up about it as people want him to be. For all we know, Neil and Katya could have an open relationship. Rebecca on the other hand has confirmed that not only was this affair behind her back, but Seann has gaslighted her and been emotionally abusive. If these claims are false or exaggerated, there is absolutely nothing stopping Seann from sharing his side of the story, which he has not done. As my earlier post in this thread reflected, I think people are far too OTT about cheating in general, especially when it comes to people we don't even know but cheating is one thing, abuse is entirely another. |

Well, this is a mess isn't it? And (quite frankly) a little weird.
When a friend of mine told me, I didn't believe him. I thought it was fake news to draw publicity for the show.
So, the kiss happens and they get caught. Then there is the fall out.
So Seann's girlfriend (understandably) is upset and leaves with the cat. Neill states that he's okay with it (eh? What sort of marriage is this?) and then I know, I'll post a naked pic pressed up agains a rock!
Then, when they realise that it's simmered to the point of boiling, they release individual statements.
And, if the latest is to believed their future in the competitions is now at jeopardy? This is last years pro winner!
So, holistically , apart from ruining their personal lives, they're stuffed up their professional lives (for a bit-these things blow over), bought the show into disrepute and lets not forget, this is a dancing competition- one of the most watched reality programmes on television- and whilst all this is going on are we focusing on the dancing, or the gossip?
Flip side, is that everyone is talking about it, again drawing attention to the show!
Bet you the BBC spin doctors are working overtimes as we speak!

So, possible scenarios for Saturday.
They dance poorly or averagely and get voted out - leave with reputation in tatters, punished by the public and tails between legs
They dance brilliantly and get voted out - leave with a degree of dignity “ there was nothing going on, we didn’t quit because we weren’t guilty”
They dance and somehow don’t get voted out - ride it out for one or two weeks then get voted out but let’s face it, it won’t be the same again.
I reckon if he does stay they will be on fire Saturday night.
BBC ratings soar whatever happens.

Nobody need 'say' anything at all. I bet Bruno has been told not to mention chemistry 😂 and they have all been told to go on 'as you were' as it were. But it is a terrible shame that dancing gets tainted with this poor behaviour and again I do think the contestants should bear in mind that it is a family show. And it is a pity too because he was dancing very well. So if he is voted out excuse he gets no votes how do you explain that to the kids.

This reminds me of the time that footballer John Terry was discovered to have had an affair with teammate Wayne Bridge’s girlfriend. Thousands of women who hate football - me included - were glued to Match of the Day to see how the feud would play out. The same will happen to SCD. I haven’t been watching the show - although I happened to catch Sean and Katya’s dance (and I did wonder if his girlfriend didn’t feel a bit weird seeing her boyfriend so touchy-touchy with such a beautiful young woman). Roll on Saturday night! You won’t be able to drag me away from that TV set.

The thing is, it wouldn't be the Great British Public who would vote him out, it would be the judges. The GBP could only put him in the bottom two. I wonder if they will be given instructions from on high, should this scenario occur ...

The whole issue will be ignored on Saturday evening.
Shaun(n) is not the strongest dancer anyway and was totally carried by Katya in that last routine. So it will not be a stretch for him to be in the bottom two with the judges and the public and the judges will vote him off as his opposition will have "more potential" or have "more dance content" etc. etc. Issue resolved!

They are doing a Charleston this week which rarely results in anyone getting the boot, mainly because it tends to be entertaining even if it's awful. And Katya's choreography for Joe's Charleston last year was spectacular, so I expect her to do something equally amazing on Saturday. What will GBpublic do???

They’ve got to be booted off! That kiss looked like far too much fun for a married woman to be having without her husband. When I was young drunken kisses did not look like that. When I was young kisses like that always ended with you-know-what...the BBC will no doubt try to gaslight us, but we know what we saw.
