Well for those who need to see a doctor, you get find Dr Ranj on 'This Morning'. He found fame on CBBC and he's written a couple of books for children and he's still an NHS clinician.
Oh and he loves his gays.

Stacey Dooley announced. (Documentary maker, started out on BBC3 but I believe they get shown on BBC now as well). I'm a big fan of hers (and she's youngish and pretty so points in that column for those keeping score)

Out of today's announcements, I have heard of one (Stacey) and can appreciate how they choose the other (Dr Ranj) - as his work on This Morning, CBeebies and other places gives him a certain profile.
If only Len were still on the show, I am sure we would be hearing lines like 'You are just what the Doctor ordered' for Ranj

Stacey is an interesting one - up and coming young presenter has done some hard hitting documentaries and was awarded an MBE this year. Given she does quite series stuff, it's an interesting change of direction for her. She is actually 31 but looks younger as I think she is quite petite.
Dr Ranj was rumoured and gives us an Asian cultural mix and ticks the gay box too as Strictly always tries to be positively diverse. The guy obviously is in good shape so could do quite well if the This Morning mob start bigging him up on Social Media.
Still waiting for the comedy contestant and the good older woman.

Not a fan of Stacey’s work but she seems nice enough so I’ll keep an open mind. Love Dr Ranj (slightly disappointed to hear he’s so short though haha).

Strictly does get people from serious backgrounds on it, so I can see why they have signed up Stacey but it seems a slightly strange thing for her to do at this stage of her career.

Ex-Pussycat Doll Ashley Roberts is the latest announcement - seems like a good signing to me, although she has done seemingly every reality show under the sun...
Apparently the Twitterati already hate her because she's a "ringer" (so the Alexandra of this year then!), but I don't remember the Pussycat Dolls doing much that could be classed as dancing...

I can't see people warming to her. From her other TV appearances, she never struck me as particularly likeable or engaging. A bit of a try hard.

The Pussycat dolls were formed as a burlesque/dance ensemble and worked in LA for a number of years before the 'music career' part took off, so yes I'd say she's a trained dancer. But as we argue every year, being trained in one form of dance doesn't mean you're good at Latin and Ballroom always.
Also @theatremonkey you're on form this morning 'above it' indeed....there's an actual medical Dr on the show...(admittedly one who has already sold out to showbiz) Maybe Stacey Dooley fancies a couple of months of sequins for a laugh?

Ashley came across well on I'm A Celebrity and will likely be a good dancer. Again she was heavily rumoured to be taking part.

With the talk about which celebs get which professionals. I always felt that doing a random bingo/FA Cup style draw would be real fun. The late great Brucie (RIP - one year on we still miss you) would have been in his element hosting it and it could still be funny with Tess and Claudia. I'm sure Tess has played bingo before!
Imagine Craig drawing out a ball or Bruno's innuendo as he pulled one out. Darcy rather gingerly putting her hand in, Len would have been in his element.
Some partners are best suited for some celebs but there would be few ridiculous partnerships thrown up as the male pros are all within a few inches in height of each other and the girls aren't that much difference after Natalie Lowe who was very tall left. Even the tiny Janette Manrara if she got a tall male pro could make it work as she'd throw herself about a lot and could be lifted.
For appreciators of male totty from either the male or female side - Gleb who was on Strictly a few years back is on a new Reality show about Celebs on a farm at 10pm on Channel 5 on Monday.

Susannah Constantine has also been announced as this year's Susan Calman/Ed Balls . She will likely end up with Anton I guess. I always thought Trinny would be more natural on Strictly but Susannah is probably more fun and will be entertaining. She was lively in the Jungle a few years back so may not mind letting herself go.
Lee Ryan has always seemed a likeable person so may do well. But like with Faye it's 2018 not early 2000's.
