Mollie and Davood in trouble.

Alexandra doing the Charleston- it should be super...
But that frock is really something quite atrocious - more Pocohontas than Poppins
Her legs with the boots lack any elegance.
Not the best Charleston of the year. Clunky and I spotted some timing issues.

OK - Craig didn't give it a 10 - but still overmarked.

If i had my way it would be Mollie and Joe in the dance off, Mollie to go

Mollie and Gemma just aren't of a standard to be in a semi-final - but one of them will be...

It’s free. People can fill their boots I liked Alexandra’s Charleston. Especially as she had a bit of heel on HER boots.

I am hoping that Gemma will leave this week. She's very nice but I don't think she's on the same level as the others.
Surprisingly, I thought Joe's was the dance of the night.
Debbie was overmarked. Again.
I am a big fan of Alexandra's but I thought her Charleston was overmarked.

Very impressed with Debbie tonight, that lift was great! I do hope she wins (as much as I love Joe). Agree that Alexandra’s costume looked more Pocahontas than Mary Poppins, very random. Overall I liked the costumes and make up this week. I’m hoping for a Mollie v Davood dance off.

Is there any chance the Strictly spoiler thread can be kept open longer than you allowed last week so those of us who want to respond to posts in it after the results show is broadcast stand a chance of some kind of discussion? Thanks.

Surely after the results show it’s no longer a spoiler so can be discussed here in the main thread?

^^ Exactly, and if it’s left open we end up with people having discussion about the show (not the spoiler) in two different threads which is why I’m locking it after the result is broadcast.

Just caught up and thought it was the best show this series. (It probably won't have gone unnoticed that I may have had a few little teeny-weeny grouches in recent weeks. Oh, and I haven't mentioned Aston for at least 5 minutes. ) Mollie and Gemma are now looking far apart from the others in my opinion. Although Davood got criticised he is more of a showman than they are, so more audience-pleasing. I'm sure I said something similar about someone last year, but it should be against the law for anyone to wear ballet shoes whose feet are not ballet trained, as they looked like plates of meat. However, if they insist on doing so, then at least get someone to fit them properly. Oh, and that was as much a rhumba as I am a big Burly Monkey.... I loved Debbie, Joe, Davood and Alexandra. I love Gorka (I do I do I do!) but was thinking what Craig said about his swivels before he said it. (Doesn't hold out much hope for him in the celebrity challenge thingy on It Takes Two, does it?!) Not looking at the spoiler thread this week as I care a bit more than I have done previously and would prefer a surprise. Hope it's Mollie and Gemma, with Mollie to go. I suspect it might be Joe and Mollie though.......but I presume you've all looked so I'll shut up me rambling now.

But there are posts in the spoiler thread that people might want to respond to after broadcast that you then can't quote if it's locked, so it does kill the discussion a bit. Personally I think it's a bit overkill to lock it at all, we're all adults here and it feels like being treated as a child, but if you must do so then please don't do it until Monday!

Thank you, poster J. That was the point I was trying to make... Last week I commented on something another poster had said in the spoiler thread but there was no chance for them (or others) to discuss (even if they'd felt inclined to!) because it was closed down unusually quickly after the results show broadcast. Over zealous IMO. I can understand a Monday morning closure but some people actually record the results show and watch it later on Sunday evening... Anyway, I thought the whole show last night was excellent. Superb opening! Those pros really are summat else! Great to hear all those tunes. And even the costumes seemed better (with the exception of Alexandra's... )

I'm sure there was a week when the posts from the spoiler thread got transferred over to the main Strictly thread after the results show. Maybe that could be a good compromise if it's not too time consuming for the mods?

Sorry I can’t guarantee I’ll be available to do this at very specific times. It was locked very quickly last week because I had other things going on that evening and early Monday morning. Moving posts from one thread to another isn’t ideal because they slot into the new thread in date/time order and can disrupt the flow of the discussion.
However no bother, if it’s not helping I’ll leave it completely alone from now on.

All we're asking for is a bit of a chance to have the type of discussion that is the whole purpose of an online forum. I don't think anyone would mind if it was closed at some point on a Monday, but Sunday night is a bit too soon. And we can all read the two threads if we want to anyway if you're not able to close it until later. There's no risk of coming across a spoiler after the broadcast. I have to admit I just found it a bit strange that the thread was locked in the first place as you mods usually just let us all get on with posting unless something really kicks off.

Monday morning is quite specific isn’t it? It was locked because it was creating a moderation job to move the non spoiler related posts into the main thread, so that we dont have two threads about the same subject running concurrently. But if you all don’t mind that then it’s no problem.

Completely forgot to mention - I got a bit excited...could the fact that they showed Richard Hammond in the audience possibly mean........could it...?
(Someone's now probably going to come on here and tell me that he's Mollie's best friend or something.)

But if you all don’t mind that then it’s no problem. Well for starters I said Monday generally, not Monday morning, and I think the context was pretty clear - it was merely a request for you to let us continue the chat on a Sunday evening and not lock the thread immediately after the show airs as some people don't watch it live. I can't speak for anyone else, but I'd have no problem with you locking it from Monday to Saturday!

Just caught up with last nights show, and have to say whichever singer sang Memory did so beautifully. It’s become the fashion to start yelling at the “touch me” part of the song. Thought last night was a very tuneful and restrained performance which suited the song beautifully.

I think we’ve done this to death now so let’s getback to discussing the programme.

I don’t think this series’ musicals episode was as good as previous years and once again I put that down to the general feel of the show not being the same as previous years. The costumes were ok last night although I thought Gemma looked awful with that awful hair-do and I thought it was unbecoming for Debbie to be in cat make up, despite it being in context of the number. Other than that I can’t put my finger on what the problem is. It’s just not the same somehow.
