When is someone going to comment on the costume affecting the votes? I’m not a conspiracy theorist. Ok, I am but Mollie, bright yellow dress? It leaps out of the telly box whereas the dark dress Alexandra was wearing....well
and they are desperate to have a bloke in the final.

^I thought them both equally hideous lynette, along with the migraine-inducing red blur that was Aljaž and Gemma. I agree the costume could possibly affect the vote in the early weeks, not sure at this late stage though.

Yellow has been fatal for most couples thus year. Even last week Jonny had yellow day glow trim. Hopefully the same applies to Mollie literally!

Did anyone see what was wrong with Tess at the beginning of tonight's show? Had her shoe come undone? She looked like she'd got her heel stuck in an escalator slat when she moved aside at the end of the catwalk, then again a bit later something was flapping.

I was watching Kirsty Young last night on the TV. (The BBC must have been expecting a royal engagement.) She too was wearing a cape, in black. At least she had an excuse, as she was outside, in't cold.
The cape must be the fashion accessory of the autumn. @caiaphas is going to be that busy, there will be smoke coming off his needles!!!

Hey, there's nothing wrong with a cape. I have one myself (see below). Although mine is in black. Warmth, style and the chance to swish about like I'm in some Victorian melodrama. 'nuff said. Ticks all boxes really.

I'll have two please @caiaphas - a lead and an alternate. You've got such good taste, I trust you to choose the colours.

Thank you for placing your order, TallPaul . I will do one in ‘shrimp’ and the other in ‘battered mushroom’. Have made a start already and hope to finish during Strictly this coming Saturday. Praying for a few rumbas as my needles tend to work faster the more uptempo the numbers are. This can cause the knit to be a bit on the ‘tight’ side resulting in a shorter garment, which I’m guessing won’t suit your build. Have been tweeting Tess who sounds quite interested as does Claudia now, would you believe... although she wants to see the cape on. Once received, I was wondering if you would you be happy to model? Am happy to post to you (at an extra cost) or will happily arrange for you to come to my home to collect. I live just north of Aberdeen. I was hoping for a few more orders to be honest, but I dare say they will increase as Christmas approaches. Not to mention the Royal Wedding. PS- forgot to mention that as you are my first taker on the ‘Board’ I will happily throw in matching leg warmers. I will put an extra inch on each leg naturally. Just an extra inch makes all the difference, I find. I will message you directly with my bank account details for prompt payment please.

@caiaphas, as the 'shrimp' and 'battered mushroom' have now been taken, could I request one in 'horn' please?

Rhino or unicorn? (Rhino is coming up on the dark side.)
Btw, our Kev has just been on It Takes Two. The challenge thingy. What is going on with the hair?

Just any old horn. Then I'd have a Cape Horn.... Kevin's hair? No idea. Transplant? I love the challenge thingy - best telly moment ever was Neil getting a big fat zero last year! Must run. Got to go and dry Zoe's dribble off Gorka. She is SO annoying!

It’s Musicals Week this Saturday. This is from the Strictly website:
Davood and Nadiya perform an Argentine Tango to The Phantom Of The Opera from The Phantom Of The Opera
Joe and Katya will Samba to Money Monday from Cabaret
Alexandra and Gorka dance the Charleston to Supercalifragilistic from Mary Poppins
Debbie and Giovanni perform an American Smooth to Memory from Cats
Gemma and Aljaz will Quickstep to Hello Dolly! from Hello Dolly!
Mollie and AJ dance the Rumba to I Dreamed A Dream from Les Miserablés
I have no idea how anyone could samba to Money Monday [sic] from Cabaret but no doubt we’ll find out. More fancy dress for poor little Joe... Debbie dressed as Grisabella (more wig opportunities) lifted by Giovanni wearing a fat-suit (a la Brian Blessed) to the Heavyside Layer? Mollie as Anne Hathaway (short messy wig and blacked out teeth) dancing all sultry with AJ as Jean Valjean (24601 on back of his convict suit?) I swear Reg Holdsworth pronounced the show as written (^) in Corrie once. He took Sherrie Hewson off to see it when it was on in Manchester! Whatever we get on Saturday it’ll be fab-u-lous!
Gemma to leave?

That really is a full house of unsuitable songs, except perhaps Alexandra and Debbie's, but the former has a really annoying song and the latter will have to deal with long-term Strictly fans comparing her effort to Alesha Dixon's Viennese Waltz to the same song, which is widely regarded as one of the best ballroom dances in Strictly history.
Gemma's song is surely a bit slow for a Quickstep, or is there a fast version? Mollie's song doesn't exactly lend itself to romantic Rumba, and she doesn't seem to do angsty very well if her Paso was anything to go by!
Davood's is too fast for an AT (last time it was used it was for Kara Tointon's Paso, which scored 9s and 10s, so there's a potentially unfavourable comparison there too), and I haven't seen Cabaret for years so I can't recall Joe's song, but it doesn't seem to me that the subject matter of Cabaret lends itself to a Samba at all.
All in all it's shaping up to be a rather weird show...maybe it'll be saved by the Dreamgirls-themed pro dance...Or maybe not...
I expect from that lot of song/dance combos that Mollie will be the one to go, though I'd much prefer Gemma to get the boot.

With so many great songs to choose from, how did they manage to get every single one wrong? This sounds horrific, but Mollie emoting rumbalike to I Dreamed a Dream should be hilarious.

Mollie and AJ dance the Rumba to I Dreamed A Dream from Les Miserablés Oh dear. The Rumba is a rubbish dance at the best of times, even more so when it's performed to unsuitable music. And it doesn't get much more unsuitable than this... In other news, I've seen tweets that both the Leading Ladies and "an incredible performance from #DreamgirlsLDN" are to feature.

Gemma's song is surely a bit slow for a Quickstep, or is there a fast version? There has been more 'swing' versions of 'Hello Dolly' out there sung by the likes of Bobby Darin and Louis Armstrong which is a bit faster than that version we hear in the musical (or the film).

I will do one in ‘shrimp’ and the other in ‘battered mushroom’ With my complexion, I wouldn't have been quite so happy with battered sausage, but they're both fine. she wants to see the cape on We always used to have a capon for Christmas. With three boys driving her up the wall, I think it was Mater's way of getting her own back. Do you take Bitcoins? I was looking for a post pub snack last night, and found some down the back of the sofa.

On It Takes Two just now - they said Mollie and AJ are dancing the Rumba to Hopelessly Devoted To You... which sounds a marginally better choice than I Dreamed a Dream!

That's at least better in terms of theme if not rhythm! Makes the Strictly website team look pretty stupid if they can't even get that right though!
