I live in the same area and will never be able to afford property unless I want to move to Luton or even further afield, damn STRAIGHT I'm envious.

Poor Selasi.
Good luck to the finalists next week.
Didn't think I'd say this but I think it's probably a good thing that the Bake Off (as we know it) is having a break for a bit. These challenges have been all about the amount of time they've got to bake. Consequently a lot of the finished products have looked quite "informal"... Palmiers- ok, but why two different sorts? Fondant fancies- yes, but 48??? Needs a bit of a rethink IMO.

Just popped a box of Kipling fancies in my ocado basket for this weekend. Bet I'm not the only one! If I'm not around on Monday I'll be in hypoglycaemic shock. I heard that CH4 are lining up Richard Ayoade to host next year. I have a very very soft spot for Richard

But there's always been an element of the ridiculous in the technical challenges - they're often things the bakers have never heard of before and have no idea how it should even look.

I did think at the point we were experiencing Tudor Week that the show was a bit desperate for ideas to keep it fresh. In the same way that its better for great TV drama series to finish before they get stale it's probably better for bake off to finish when it's on a high.

So who's your money on? Who do you want to win? And who deserves the title?
Andrew for me! (All three categories...)

Jane will win. I want Candice to win. Any of the three would deserve to win.

Bugger. I thought her chocolate cake looked a wreck but overall it looked like she deserved to win.
The edit was a bit biased in their sum up in the tent but then they've only got a finite amount of time.

Pleased for her... on this day she deserved to win! I'd have eaten all the things in her hamper. They looked amazing. Loved the final caption of the two girls going off together on some baking road trip... How great is that? (Although they didn't invite poor Val; she's off to Aiya Napa (of all places!))

Gutted for Andrew, especially for not being part of the road trip crew. He didn't do very well on a few of his showstopper bakes and that lost him the final. A good series though, I genuinely liked all three finalists and I'm not surprised at Candice's success.

Anyway, loved another series of Bake Off. RIP GBBO

First time I've disliked the winner, although her cockney family and dog softened me a bit. Bit too posey with the lippy. Rooted for Andrew, would have been OK with Jane.
