Well it's more musical than not! (And it's not The Three Penny Opera either...!)

Yes I know - I always get the writing of the the title wrong! But it is definitely not a musical, it's a play with music. The songs are written to be performed by actors, not singers. Musicals didn't exist in Germany in those days. They wanted to create a new kind of theatre with music that steals elements of Opera and Operetta while ridiculing them. The focus is on the text and its meaning. Like theatre without music the piece should make the audience reflect on the content not primarily entertaining them.

Mine too! I didn't approach him. I would've made a fool of myself. I wonder what he thought of it though?

A bunch of the new cast of Star Trek at Harry Potter today. Chris Pine sitting in the audience smiling and being generally attractive certainly got many of the audience members ver excited.

I was at Harry Potter yesterday and saw the Star Trek Guys. I had an aisle seat and tried not to stare every time they walked past

On the HP theme, distinctly not in the theatre but I managed to run into Jamie Parker out and about not once but twice on Sunday. Poor man probably thought I was following him (I really wasn't, I was in search of food)

Aw, bless them. I loved Penny Smith in 'Pippin'. Her impression of Frances Ruffelle was spot on.

It's always the ones who are common as muck who go in for that type of treatment isn't it. The late Cilla Black being another example. Anyone with a smidge of class wouldn't be trolling round the west end demanding champagne to be put on ice for them. Cringe.

I saw one of those Complete Works of Shakespeare in an hour shows a couple of years ago, and they had a table reserved for David Tennant with champagne and crisps laid on. But it turned out it was for a running gag in the show.
I wonder if he ever knew about it, and what would have happened if he'd ever shown up!
