They are doing a few double dates. They are getting quite busy.

Some discussion of this when StratfordSue flagged it in the Vice Versa thread but I thought it worth flagging in a general RSC thread now more details are released. The RSC are doing a "summer rush" scheme offering £10 tickets each Friday for "selected performances" the following week. Presumably this is a more "public" approach to the regular £10 deals they advertise on Facebook or Twitter. www.rsc.org.uk/news/summer-rush-tickets

Just had a look at this Summer Rush offer, which opened at 12. As far as I can see, for Salome (which isn't selling well at all), entering code 54321 gives you access to all seats for £10. For Titus (which is selling pretty well, at least for the Saturday matinee I looked at), the code gives you access to a selection of the available Band A stalls seats for £10.

Was at Salome the other night. Sitting behind were four people, chatty, happy, were saying o they don't know much about this maybe they should get a programme...usher lady leaned over and said don't worry, they sell them in the interval. I just sat tight knowing this was a 90 minute job, no interval. Afterwards, not so chatty. If word of mouth has the power it is supposed to have I'm not surprised Salome is not selling well.

There's nothing on that really really grabs me enough to pay full price, but I got decent Rush tickets for Titus next weekend. For a tenner, I think that's a bargain.

More casting for Twelfth Night starting to emerge (via Baz)
We knew about Adrian Edmondson as Malvolio - now we get Kara Tointon as Maria...
(and my friend Joe - but not sure what he is playing yet!)

Baz got it wrong Ms Tointon is playing Olivia I was very puzzled by that initial (apparent) casting, and the correction made more sense! Still not sure I need another Twelfth Night, however..

All very nice but what about full casting for Coriolanus? It opens two months before Twelfth Night and so far apart from the title role, not a dicky bird!!

The £10 rush tickets they were doing over the summer are still available every Friday from 12:00 - www.rsc.org.uk/rush-ticketsI think the offer varies depending on how things are selling but at the moment if you select any seat for any performance of Coriolanus or Dido next week via the above link you will have the option to get it for the £10 rush price.

Just out from seeing Dido Queen of Carthage on the Swan. Really good, excellent performances all round esp Chipo Chung in the title role. Exactly the kind of play the RSC should be programming in the Swan. Means i have completed the Marlowe canon as well!

Think i mentioned it before, the Rose bankside a few years back, a vigorous sexy production. Hope the RSC will do it soon, they do seem to be going through his works.

Well done on the full set. Did you not see the NT Dido Queen of Carthage a few years ago ? Anastasia Hille delivering an uncanny impersonation of Vanessa Redgrave for reasons unknown.

Not really sure why but missed that and the Globe production so was really glad of the RSC announcement!
