Specifically, no, but maybe the previously mooted Romeo & Juliet/Troilus & Cressida double-bill will finally come to fruition.

At some point Doran will have to continue with his history cycle and Henry VI though the heart somewhat sinks at the prospect.

Ditto, though based on the Tewkesbury scenes during Dorans Henry IV the fighting could still be good
At least fight director Terry King is still working with the RSC after all these years.

Would have thought doran will wait to do H6&R3, after all way thinfs are goung its looking like 2019 before the complete works is done! I an hoping for the Romeo&Juliet/Troilus&Cressida double header. Odd there have been no leaks🙉

I would love to see any Troilus and Cressida right now to help rid my mind of a certain collaboration the RSC did a few years ago. In fact I caught up with with the Ngakau Tau production from the Globe to Globe recordings
Would recommend that if you can overlook it is in Maori language with no subtitles (a synopsis would be useful)

He's already done it, so *hopefully* we'll be spared next time it comes around.

I should be reluctant by that, but then I remember that last time the RSC went through all the histories series one of my favourite actors played both Richard 2 and 3

Not me, i love it! Just wish they would take more risks with casting and, in the Swan with the repetoire.

Love the RSC generally, but really do need a longer break from Antony Sher than the thirty seconds between shows we're currently gifted with. Apparently Doran was turned down for the artistic directorship before because people worried there'd be too much Sher on our stages. Turns out those fears were not without foundation. But, y'know, the other actors are great, and I like some of the other directors a great deal.

To be fair, Sir Ant seems to only do one play a year. And imho has been great in them (seeing KL later this year at the Barbican). So why wouldn't Mr Doran cast him?
I'm hoping for a Pericles as I've never seen the RSC do it (only the Globe).

I agree there has been somewhat over the top criticism of Doran casting one of best classical actors of the last 30 years in leading roles at the RSC ( i know Jan Brock will disagree!). Pericles will happen at some stage as they work their way thru the folio.

To be fair, Sir Ant seems to only do one play a year. True, and there have been particular actors who played more major roles in multiple seasons than Antony Sher under Michael Boyd's 'ensemble-style' programming

I'm a big fan of the RSC, and I'm dying to know what the plans are for next year. One of my very first theatre trips was to the RSC back in the 80s when I was a teenager, and then I didn't go again for years and years. I started going again when David Tennant did Richard II, and I loved that. I'm determined to see the entire cycle of plays now, so I'm impatient to know what they're doing next. I don't love everything they do (Merchant of Venice was abysmal imo, and Hamlet & Othello were only ok) but I really liked the Henry IV cycle, and I'm really excited for the Henry VI cycle as I really love the Wars of the Roses. I'd be keen to see Troilus and Cressida though, as it's a play I don't know at all.

Snap! Elanor. I first went to Stratford in 1985 for the Ben Kingsley/David Suchet Othello, missed s few years and have been going regularly since. The new season starts next week with 2 Noble Kinsmen and Lear previewing so surely the 2017 season has to be announced any day now?! Maybe with the long promised Troilus/Romeo double bill😀

Maybe with the long promised Troilus/Romeo double bill😀 My first was the Jeremy Irons Winter's Tale - I think it was my first Shakespeare. I remember Jeremy Irons being mumbly and Penny Downie having amazing hair, and there being a wonderful huge polar bear rug which later became exit-pursued-by bear. I saw the Mark Rylance Romeo in the Swan too, which I remember vividly. I've got tickets for Lear and Tempest, and am still making my mind up about the Swan stuff. I do love the Swan, and I really loved Don Quixote and Queen Anne this year, although I did also really enjoy Faustus and the Alchemist. I'm lucky enough that I can drive to Stratford in about 45 minutes, so it's a very manageable day out for me, and much cheaper than getting to London for the theatre. Have you gone to any of the Unwrapped events in the mornings? I've seen a couple and really enjoyed them.

David normally i would agree but the programmes for kinsmen and lear will have both winter 16-17 and 17 summer season details? Elanor, i have tkts for lear swan double header and tempest (with my two children). I remember the Rylance romeo in the swan. Still best thing ever, the John Wood Lear in 1990😀
