I like Alan Cox.

A bit underwhelmed by the casting. Thought Stalin would be played by someone to match Roger Allam's profile.

The OT probably can only afford one name actor per production.

It's a combination of a short run and for many of the actors it's local to them so not much of a commute. It is also due to Tom Littler’s connections and powers of persuasion. The casting is notably more high profile than it was under Paul Miller and before that Sam Walters, although what is nice is he also casts actors who worked there regularly in those previous regimes - Clive Francis for example.

I wonder if the opportunity of working with an able director in the round also helps; interesting play perhps, something different for a handful of weeks ..
I don't know Alan Cox. Might his dad pop along at some point in support ..

I don't know Alan Cox. Might his dad pop along at some point in support .. As an actor he is as different to his father as it is possible to imagine - you would never guess they were related. He pops up here and there - I saw him most recently as Uncle Vanya at Hampstead.

Yes, he's managed to attract Jane Asher a couple of times and I think she lives outside London.
