My Fair Lady's cast recording is stunning, not listened to Carousel yet but planning to. Where is this available? Doesn't seem to be on Apple Music!

I'm loving Carousel so far. Jessie Mueller is one of my favourite musical theatre stars, and she sounds gorgeous as Julie. As does Joshua Henry, who never disappoints as far as I'm concerned. Lindsay Mendez sounds fabulous in Mr Snow too.
Does the album sound really echoey to anyone else though? If I Loved You sounded like it was being sung under a canal bridge through my earphones.

Alternating between Hadestown, Everybody’s Talking about Jamie, and Hamilton. Depends on my mood when I’m doing my walks

A bit of Bat out of Hell at the moment to kick start the weekend.
Though I did get a nice surprise this morning. The nice people at ATG have sent me a sample CD of the Matilda music as part of the marketing of the Manchester leg of the tour. Having already seen it in London a few years ago, it will be nice to revisit the score. Though, no actual song list has been provided on the cd sleeve!

I’m currently on a David Yazbek kick after THE BAND’S VISIT Tony win last Sunday. That Cast Recording is beautiful! I’ve been digesting everything I can about the show in hopes that it will come to London eventually. I’m also listening to some of Yazbek’s other stuff too, including THE FULL MONTY, DIRTY ROTTEN SCOUNDRELS and WOMEN ON THE VERGE OF A NERVOUS BREAKDOWN.
Speaking of WOTVOANB, I know that they did record an Original London Cast Recording for it, but it is not commercially available. Does anyone know where I could obtain or listen to a copy?

Three of the songs were available to download for free on the official website of the show. I think those were the only songs they recorded but I could be wrong

After re-watching the film yesterday (and loving spotting all of the MT performers) I'm currently listening to the Les Mis 25th anniversary recording.

Sweeney Todd - The Motion Picture Soundtrack (Don't mock!). The orchestration on it is epic & whilst Bonham-Carter is quite underwhelming, I do enjoy Depp's almost recitative presentation of Todd. Sondheim has been quoted as saying Todd should be acted over sung where necessary and in this instance I think it works. Having only recently gotten into Sondheim and really started to appreciate some of his genius, I was recently watching a video of him breaking down Epiphany and since then I've been obsessed.

Just downloaded Summer: The Donna Summer cast recording. I basically saw every diva bio jukebox musical this summer: Tina, Summer and Cher. Tina was the best, Summer was a wonderful mix of karaoke and mediocrity and Cher Show was a total disaster and bore.
The Summer cast recording on the other hand is just plain awful, and not even LaChanze can save it. Having said that, this is my third listen the big songs. I have issues.
I also just got The Grinning Man and I am really excited to relive some of those fanatic moments of this beautiful show.

Hard to admit but I like Mean girls a lot. Especially Apex Predator is a great song. Even the show is not my cup of tea and I never watched the movie.

Witches of Eastwick: so many great songs, not least Dirty Laundry and Loose Ends.
A little night music(National):I never tire of this recording
Light in the Piazza: loved it in NY, loved the Leicater Curve production and love the original cast recording. And I love watching the PBS broadcast from time to time
Ragtime (OBC): still one of my favourite pieces of musical theatre. And I enjoy watching the UK concert version that was aired all those years ago

Listening to Bare: a Pop Opera for the first time in a very long time. I forgot how much I loved it. It's genius, the leitmotif we first here in "Auditions" gives me chills.
Wish they revived it in London as I never got the chance to see it.

I’m really looking forward to Company and Candide (LSO) but still no word of when they are coming out. Last year, LSO’s Wonderful Town took 9 months before it was released. Seems a long wait ... best things come to those who wait. Anyroad here is a nice geeky list www.playbill.com/article/upcoming-cast-recordings-com-171219

Not really a cast recording either but these 3 songs have been making my heart warm and soft for the past week:
I love the lyrics, the instruments and the melancholy sound/feel.

I promise my next post will be about cast recordings again, but I really think that musical theatre fans can appreciate this. Here are some clips of OG3NE, a group of 3 Dutch sisters singing together. I just love their harmonies and thought some West End lovers on this board will like it too. I think they are extremely talented and musical. They are like a bouquet of flowers bursting into song Emotion: Magic: Hold On: Change will come: Dirty Old man: Want to want me: Un-break my Heart: Hold my hand: Just give me a reason: The power of christmas: Clown: And here they sing "Sing", with a style they invented themselves called "echoing", which is amazing in my opinion: Working my way back to you: Laughter in the rain: Stupid kind of lover: Lights and shadows: And a live version of "Change will come": And a fun experiment in a tv show singing the classical Schubert song "Schone welt" in their own style: Het is over: How deep is your love: The beautiful French song "Le Festin": Acapella: A whole new world: Happy New year: Alles is nog hier:

Gave ‘Six’ another go the other day on the way to a meeting and haven’t had it off since (fnar fnar). As cheesy and cheap as it sounds, it has something and I can imagine it being quite something live onstage.
