The loud TikTok man says Jamie Lloyd is doing Ragtime at the national theatre. Obviously a rumour at this time … but would be marvellous to see it here

Yeap, the staging will consist of only a wheel and a dream, oh yeah also tonnes of fog.

Oh good. I can’t wait to see Sarah remove her microphone when she dies as the camera slowly zooms in.

Will we have a camera in the flower garden looking up so we can see Mother digging? We’re bound to get the most somber and joyless “Wheels of a Dream” ever performed at least, which will be interesting.

How accurate is the loud shouty tick tock man? Considering there’s still no Sunday in the Park with George starring Andrew Garfield announced, I’m always a little bit wary.

If this is true I'll be so mad. I want a proper Ragtime revival please not whatever derivative rubbish Jamie Lloyd will churn out.

How accurate is the loud shouty tick tock man? I would say he has a pretty good success rate - he was talking about here we are at the Nash long before it was announced

I know I'm not the only one who sees references to a loud or shouty man on TikTok that has not clue who that is..
Thanks!

If this is true- and the orchestra sounds as magnificent as Sunset- I’m in.

It certainly could fit with the direction, I just want a production with a big ol' set but yeah, I agree if it sounds great like all National things usually do then I'll see it.

I’ve always thought the NT should have used their resources to stag this show or Parade

Wonder if they'll just politely ask him if they can have a set

As some as of us might be interested in buying a ticket for this - can we dispense with the dropping spoilers into conversation as if we all already know the details of every show, please? It's not the New Testament.

Tentatively excited by the prospect of this - would be glad of any opportunity to hear that monumental score

'Till We Reach That Day' will start in the foyer of the National, the cast will then walk to the London Eye do one rotation suspended on top of each of the pods, derig and walk back through the Olivier stalls in time for the final note.

Does Lloyd have experience of working with a large ensemble? Sunset isnt really a big show but Ragtime is,lots of named parts and different groups of people.

I hope this happens. I love the score and haven't seen it for such a long time.
Not everything Jamie Lloyd does is the same. If he brings something of the style and spirit he brought to the Menier Assassins then this could be great .

I think his Regent's Park EVITA needs to be seen again as well....and I don't recall a black box setting or any video cameras.
