I think Robbie Williams would struggle with the discipline expected of MT performers. He's used to swaggering around a stage doing his own thing and interacting with an audience. Unfortunately, in a musical, he'd be expected to play a role, stick to the script and perform the songs himself and with others on the stage. Given that he seems to have the attention span of a goldfish and a tendency to play to the audience, I can't see him being able to handle being in a musical. He also doesn't have a great voice - I can't see it standing up to 8 shows a week.
If he wants to get into MT, then perhaps he should take it one step of a time rather than trying to write and perform in musicals. Even Gary Barlow hasn't done both yet, and probably never will. It's about playing to your strengths.
