This is officially opening this week, although it’s been doing some previews. Has anyone been / anyone planning to go?

I'm going with two friends at the end of next month. Daytime weekday tickets 'cos they were cheaper. Will be interesting to hear reports but am keen that the tasks aren't spoiled.

I’m (randomly) part of the Taskmaster sub-Reddit. Early preview reports on the Live Experience are reasonably consistent - glad I paid £35 and not £100, very hot, wear layers and too many people in a room. Given a lot of the people on there would be self-confessed super-fans, I suspect this might not fare so well with a more general audience.
I nearly booked but baulked at the price. I really hope they use the previews to get it right as there is a high risk of damaging the brand right now.

Spotted in a review that part of the prize for winning is a free photo opportunity on the Taskmaster throne, which otherwise costs £12.
The prize itself isn’t really a problem (I doubt people really care about the prize, just the winning is the real goal here!) but I’m amazed at a £12 photo opportunity that’s just sitting in a chair

This is quite funny considering it’s the bit that you don’t have to pay for. - The food is typical London overpriced-basics-in-a-cardboard-tray (although apparently the beer is nice) - The garden is just a decorated area of the same indoor warehouse, which I suppose can’t be helped - Out of the two routes within the experience, ‘Absolute Casserole’ is the better of the two. Most complaints about lack of polish is about the ‘Melon Buffett’ version. - Massive variation on the quality of the guides (The Little Little Alex Hornes). If you get a really good assistant then it’s great, but some are less polished or more impatient with guests. - The rooms are hot and (while much bigger than the real house) still very cramped with a full 14-person party. - Even people who loved it think £100 is overpriced for what it is, with most positive reviews saying ‘for the £35 preview price it’s great but I wouldn’t pay more’ Obviously it’s dependent on various factors (the group you end up with, the assistant’s talent etc.) but the general consensus right now seems to be ‘it’s okay, is not worth £70-£100’ |

Did the 'Absolute Casserole' experience today, and thought it was OK. I paid £50 for Friday daytime tickets, and wouldn't pay more than that.
The main problem is that the tasks have to be measurable in order to keep things moving, so some of the joy of the programme - the ability to come up with lateral thinking to solve a problem, to make an argument, is all gone in favour of things which end up with numbers that can be assessed against criteria. So, while it makes sense, some of the attraction of the show from that aspect has gone. We had a decent guest host, but there's not much opportunity for them to extemporise when the moves between rooms have to be so tightly coordinated between groups. We were bumped from our booked slot to one 15 minutes later, not sure if this was due to demand (or lack of it). There was an offer to do the 'other' experience today for an extra £25.
The public areas are I would say just OK, and unless you're a real Taskmaster nerd many of the exhibits will be 'so what' moments. The £12 for a throne photo has obviously been pushed back on as you can now get that photo on your phone for free, the £12 is only if you want the 'proper' branded photo.
I see it's been extended for another month so it must be doing ok but the building is a very temporary warehouse so I assume developers have an eye on the site in the medium term.
