Where Regent's Park was perfect, the Donmar doesn't feel right to me for this. It's too cramped. And surely it's a show that warrants something larger. But I will happily see it again, wherever it is. Act 1 definitely has a sense of claustrophobia to it ... Act 2 could be staged in the food court outside

I’m really hoping it’s not going to happen at the Donmar. After the hideous Menier production, I long to see a lavish production on a bigger stage. Would be happy even if that was just at Chichester for a season.

Chichester should definitely do it. But I do like it as a chamber piece - I've long wanted to see it in the Minerva.

As much as I’d like a big(ish) scale production - I’d be very happy if this was happening at the Donmar as it’ll mean we’ll get a damn good cast… who’ll probably be more starry than if it was at Regent’s.

They will have an up-hill battle to improve on the Leeds Playhouse / Opera North collaboration recently. Having the Opera orchestra alone was sensational.

I think the last time the Donmar done a Sondheim piece was Passion? If so that was 14 years ago. I don’t remember that was a hard ticket to get.

Donmar, then a West End transfer to recoup, would be lovely. Keeping everything crossed. Such a great show!

I have never been to the Donmar, is it worth the hype?

Donmar is one of the best producing houses in London.

You’ll never guess the current rumour of who they want to play Madame A. She had a Broadway musical about her career. That’s all I can say. Gloria Estefan? Carole King? Imelda Marcos?

If they get Cher, it will sell out in about 3 seconds.

Cher in ALMM at the Donmar sounds like a cheese dream.

It sounds slightly ridiculous. The only financial reason to do it would be the transfer, and how long would Cher commit to? Sonia sounds a far more likely chanteuse to do it.

I love all these ridiculous names popping up. Maybe they will bring Eva Peron back from the dead and prop her up in a chair. Wasn't there a Broadway musical about her?

Since it's set in Sweden, of course the obvious casting is Agnetha Fältskog.
