Think it’s safe to say Imelda will reprise her role in that

That was announced aaaaaages ago and nothing has happened since! I very much doubt we're in the sort of industrious era of film-making that this could be justified.

Ah yes. I should have checked the date this was posted to the BBC web site. Apologies.

Ah yes. I should have checked the date this was posted to the BBC web site. Apologies. To be fair, Westendtheatre.com made an "announcement" about this a few days ago (20th August)
Nothing in the article to suggest any imminent progress on the project.

Likewise, shouty theatre man on TikTok spoke about it just this week too - wondering if it's finally picked up steam...

I think somebody just stumbled across the old story and it's been recycled due to a slow news month.
Surely you wouldn't get this off the ground without Meryl, Glenn or Cher involved?

It got messed up by the pandemic much like many other films and then out of the pandemic all the people assigned were busy and finally people are starting to be free again.
But I'm surprised they'd start it back up again considering it felt like an "of the time" decision to make a film and now we have the brilliant proshot. Who knows.

Why make a film? Just release the pro-shoot.
